Sometimes,I think they just really need a big,warm hug!!

There are, as far as I know, two places in the game (not sure about Durge)where you can hug someone spontaneously whether they are your romance option or not, Karlach after Dammon makes it so she can touch people, and the Guardian early game when he's exhausted and needs comfort. I can't think of any others (doesn't mean they don't exist, just I can't remember them).

There should be so many more; Shadowheart crying her eyes out while we stand there like stumps. Astarion at his unascended Cazador moment to name just two and theres probably tons of other times and places where it would be appropriate with no romantic extras thrown at it but just cameraderie and concern.

The animations are in the game - Shadowhearts parents, SH herself, Karlach and the player all have them to name just 4 instances.

Can't be that difficult surely?

This, totally this - I felt a right pudding standing there while Shadow was sobbing away.

I would settle for a "there, there" dialogue option.

Not a priority in my opinion, but I agree this would be a neat addition.

100 percent agree. You can hug Astarion during his confession scene but if you choose another option that�s the only chance you get. I too would have killed for an option to hug him after what went down with Cazador and convincing Astarion not to ascend. Or just something other than awkwardly standing a foot apart all the time � more hand holding, face touching, something!

This! When Astarion was crying, it literally physically hurt that I couldn't hug him. I wanted to leap in the screen and comfort him so badly

There needs to be a life skills coach in the script writing team I think. Someone's in need of comfort - option a) question them as to whether they are going to be a liability b) ask for a clinical description of the problem, c) "leave" - perhaps as per this thread d) hug, and e) can I help in any way? ( f) how about a cup of hot chocolate?...and I'll get your fluffy slippers)

On the other side, Lae'zel can rant about you not letting her interrogate the Tiefling in the grove, then call you a subordinate and threaten you - and you have no reply available (I smacked her in the head with an axe, which was satisfying given no "s$%t up you psychopathic b$%%ch" option.)

I've already said that the game lacks emotional intelligence.

You can kick ascended Astarion in the balls in a romance scene, but can't hug him if he chooses not to ascend (a good place for that hug would be when he says he wants to feel alive again before leaving Cazador's mansion). Can't hug Shadowheart in a moment where any at least somewhat emotionally literate person would consider offering comfort. But hey at least you also don't get an opportunity to slap her for anything.

Yes please. Let us hug our friends and romantic partner.

By the way I want to hug Astarion when he's ASCENDED, not kick him in balls. Just said.

There are a lot of �hug� options already! You can even �hug� a bear.

So much this. Astarion's hug scene is the sweetest freaking moment, I love for it to come full circle and for him to see that I will continue to offer him that comfort going forward. The man needs more non-sexual intimacy!

I think they're already working on it. This is a highly requested feature that I've been seeing everywhere. I remember seeing a datamine of Shadowheart's reaction to the player hugging her, so we might be seeing the hug option for everyone in a future update

Well, no worries!
Thats the kind of stuff Larian will probably add ASAP and take precedence over more important and asked for features. Got to please the modern WOW crowd.

Don't worry, your super difficult mode where everyone dies with a single mistake is also already in the works.
