<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />I have two stupid questions. Why am I a "stranger" and how do I get an avatar picture (if there are any)? Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Higher the post count the better your rank gets.
You can get an avatar by filling in an url with a small picture at "My Home" options. on top of the screen <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> "Personal info~"

Hello Ferettmom, as far as I can figure your "stranger" title (in my case "Child of nature") depends on how many posts you have placed, it changes as your posts increase in number, I dont know what number posts equal what title and I think it also depends on what "Class" you ticked on your personal info. I think others here can and will explain it better. For an Avatar you can find your own pic and reduce it down to: (80x80 max pixels, may be smaller) (.gif, .jpg, .png accepted) and post it on the net and place the url in the box in your personal info, you can also find Avatars on line, Check in the "General" at "About this web site" there is a thread there by Lynn called "Choose your Avatar". I hope that helps a bit until someone better qualified can assisst you.

you may also use 100x100 pixel as well, but that is max size, and...

Wrong, if you have a really huge post count you don't have a "better" post count at all. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> I should know. It merely changes with more posts. I know some people with merely 100 posts (or so) but who are very respected and have been here for a long time, so it doesn't really matter what your post count or your rank is. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions. You did make it clearer for me. I quess I just have to keep on posting. I'm going to work at getting a picture of an Avatar. My son will be here on Thurs. He is very good with computer things. He'll know how to do it for me if I haven't figured it out by then. He is driving up from Fredricksburg Virginia to New York City. He's a doctor and he is in the process of opening a new practice in New Jersey. I've given you a small geography lesson. I really appreciate your help.
