Curious during cutscenes how f others have fans run high/temp. Certain scenes such as the skeleton intro scene towards beginning of act 1 causes fans to get loud and temp around 90?

Is this normal?

I have make a few assumptions here, not a lot of data provided.

** I'm making the assumption that you are playing with uncapped frame rates **

Take a look at your frame rates during these scenes. If your frame rate is extremely high, consider settling a frame rate limit.

Also, need to look at the rate of change for the temps. If the GPU heats up significantly faster than it cools down, especially with high fan rpm, this is an indication that there could be a problem with the cooling solution.

A worst case example would be a bent or warped PCB preventing heatsinks from making solid contact.

Another example, if this an aging card, you may consider replacing heat pads and/or thermal paste.

Also keep in mind that modern GPUs and CPUs have overclocking algorithms that push thermal limits to provide the fastest boost clocks possible. If the card is hitting 90 and staying there and clock speeds are remaining constant, this could perfectly fine.

Thanks

So it goes back down after the scene and really the only fan that reacts are the card fans. Otherwise it’s mostly quiet

The card is on the older side but I was still suprised
