I'm playing as the dark urge and I'm on my second playthrough. I've done everything you can do in act 1 and was getting ready to go into act 2, but realized I still had not come across Raphael. I've posted about this on another group and checked all the places other people had found him with zero luck. I've tried going into act 2 to see if that would force the cut scene to trigger, but that also isn't working. I've made sure to talk to every npc, searched every inch of the map, and I honestly have no idea why he isn't showing up. I was romancing Astarion and I'm worried that if I don't find Raphael I will get locked out of part of his storyline. Did I mess something up this time around, or is my game bugged? I don't know if it's worth continuing, or just starting a new 3rd playthrough. Hoping someone here might know why this is happening, thanks in advance.
In my experience of not encountering Raphael in all of Act 1 while the story progressed, I found him in my camp on the long rest that is automatic when you change regions. I have noticed that if you do not speak to Nettie in the grove, and you do not speak to Lae'zel about ceremorphosis, he will not appear until then. I think doing at least one of those two things seems to trigger him popping in to see you wherever you happen to be after at least one long rest, maybe 2. Otherwise, he should be at your camp before you actually head into Act 2. Is it possible you just missed him in your camp during the long rest between acts? Although he should have a "!" over his head to make him easier to spot. He did for me.
