I don't know how the rest of you feel, but I'm longing for some info on DD2. Now that <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> is released I think it's the time for Larian to drop a word on <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> II, maybe an early screenshot or some artwork or so..
what do you guys think ??

I'll rather wait so that Larian can make sure there is no bugs! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/alien.gif" alt="" />

I am not sure how far Larian is in DD2.
Here's an important suggestion, by the way:
Please release the demo as soon as possible, before even actually finishing working on the full game. It will help you avoid many mistakes.

Just realise that demos are advertising, not beta releases. There's no point releasing a demo that doesn't resemble the final product, or one that convinces people it's a piece of runny crap.

I agree. Demos are a good advertising. I first wanted to buy DD when I read a review and played the demo. I did not play BD demo because I would buy the game anywhay, so I don´t know if it is good. But DD demo actually made me want to search a bit about Larian Studios and their projects.

Funnily enough the demo for DD way back when kind of put me off. I didn't think it was that great. But then I'm rarely impressed by a demo. Only demo that ever impressed me enough to buy a game was Call of Duty.
But I bought DD as it didn't have any competition at the time, and I wanted something diablo-ish.
And boy did it deliver, and wipe the floor with diablo.

But some people could misunderstand your words. They could think that telling "The DD demo was good" you're making an insinuation : "But the BD demo wasn't". Barta

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" /> Hey guys,
Come on, you all know you're going to buy the game. We're all hooked on the Divinity games one way or the other. It dosn't really matter how the demo comes out. I only have aol, so at this point I probably wouldn't download the demo, it would take too long. I KNOW I'm going to buy D2 anyway.
Take care,
Shelli

Yup I agree with Ferettmom, (Even though I diddnt enjoy <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> as much as I did Divine Divinity) I will definetly be buying DD2, sight unseen and Demo-less. Although a bit of info would be nice, a screen shot or two, to whet the appetite. I confess Im hooked on the <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> universe. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

yes, but to give justice to the upcoming game, larians, & gamers; maybe too early a preview will be bad in the long run, especially when u have people on their highest hopes which nothing in reality can ever reach. many will get disappointed & frustrated & angry for the final product did not fit into their notion of it when all that previews & sneak-peaks & such gave their imaginations too free a license. something like that.
i rather wait for larians to make it finer & very clsoe to final, then release info on it. that way, changes made on the game will be minor & gamers who anticipate it won't be disappointed when larians decide to make dramatic changes to the game in its early stages.
think of westwood studio's C&C: Tiberian Sun. anticipation ran so high that nothing the developers do will ever sate the unrealistic expectations. i can say, personally, i was disappointed with warcraft 3 when it came out as it played a bit too much like the old warcraft 2 mixed with warlords battlecry elements. not even close to the word 'innovative' or God forbids - 'breakthrough'. i hear the same story regarding neverwinter nights when it first came out. hardcore fans felt disappoointed as the final game wasn't like anything in their expectations.
it's good to have hype. but too much will kill the game even before it hits the shelves. i hope larians will tread carefully in this marketing area.

releasing some sneak, concept art or info is not hyping a game.. it's the gaming community that hypes a game, not the developpers
