Anyways ACT 2 spoilers ahead,
ok I woke up Art Cullagh with my sick Lute Riffs, I got Halsin to the Lake Shore, saved then here's where I messed up so after reloading the portal fight again after getting my ass kicked for like 30th time (more like 5th or 6th time, Portal kept getting destroyed), so I said Fuck it, I figured since it's so damn hard, I might need to grind a bit, level up and farm wine, oil and smoke powder barrels, I get back to the lake, set everything up and Halsin is gone, I go back to camp and he's just chilling there like a lazy bum, I don't know how to get him out of camp again, so I can complete this quest, talking to him doesn't seem to be working, violence is also not an opinion yet... Since I don't think revivify would work on him right now, seeing as he's technically not a companion yet, I know I'm not killing Ketheric, until I fix this damn curse, I'm pretty much trapped in Act 2 limbo, until I figure out a way to resolve this,

I already saved over the prefight save

Your assumption is incorrect. Lifting the Shadow Curse is Halsin's story. In fact, the Curse will not be removed unless Thorn is defeated and does not take hold until you go to enter Act 3. As far as the encounter you mentioned you may wish to alter your strategy or party make up. Clerics have a spell that makes this combat rather easy as long as the other toons prioritse the ranged baddies.


Under the conditions you stated, Halsin will leave when you exit the Shadowlands. You should even get a short cutscene when you do.

Try throwing Darkness on the portal so ranged attackers can't quickly destroy it.

I did that fight recently with wiz, warlock, sorceror, cleric. 2 Ice Mephits and a Shovel, everyone staying near portal.

Started Hunger of Hadar left side approach

Fireball at front/right baddies

Sleet Storm added to Hadar on left side

Spirit Guardians up

Finish off the bad guys coming from front/right however, nothing getting through from left, all trapped in icy darkness. If anything does get through blast them back into the dark with Eldritch.

Add Wall of Fire to left for the lols.

Nuke them all down and had 2 turns left for portal with all enemies dead.

I finished it, load up a much earlier save where I talked Malus Thorm into getting murdered by his sisters, had do the Marcus fight, freeing Tieflings, Rolan's Shadows again, redoing everything was a pain, but atleast I got it done at last.

You can also put a dome of invulnerability over the portal. Your ranged party members can stand in the dome. Just make sure you keep concentration.

What I also find really helpful is to get scrolls of minor or major elementals for fights like these. You can place them in the front line as cannor fodder before the fight starts. Ice elementals are really good at slowing the enemy down or knocking them prone.
