The other sections seem to be over-run at present, so I guess lets hold out here and circle the wagons?
Hopefully the silver swords come clear out the spam soon, but meantime, this is pretty epic!
She goes in fully green and yet totally prevails, each and every time! So good!
Grace on the case and hitting all the beats! Just when you thought it couldn't get any deadlier than the imps! hehe Cleans house to boot, like right from the getgo. Weapon master for sure! Check out the VA peeps playing the game. They're all fantastic!
Ps. There we go, I think it works now. The video kept skipping around, but anyway, rewind the tape I guess, it's all the best!
Oh good, looks like the boards are much tidier now!
Those spambots were running amuck last night in like every forum section except for General, so I watched the whole Dev'zel for like an hour and a half hehe. Episode 2 came out just in time! Kissing wounded mindflayers, benching Astarion lol, the choice words with Gale.
Dev'zel rocked it way harder than my first Tav! Last week's installment was excellent as well!
Oh and honorable mentions for the Violet and Lulu stream, for their first encounter with Bae'zel in the other campaign heheh
Ps. I think those spambots are still lurking in the Feedback and some other sections, and their spambolts include random electronics and "money rituals" now? Lol I mean in addition to the usual fair we've seen these past weeks, they're gettin' shifty like twin spelling spam with multiple imps at once! Hopefully the mods can go Slay'zel style and crush all the spambots to free the other sections of the forums!
Anyhow, meanwhile, least there's Youtube and such till it's sorted I suppose. The VA peeps are all solid - they're rockin' it!
I think the coolest part about the Dev'zel run is that she's pretty much going in blind on the PS5 layout but still totally hitting all the marks. Like without a lot of background in D&D or experience with similar games or just video games in general, so you get to see what that looks like with the new user experience. Pretty much all her reactions to the UI and certain aspects of the systems as presented are totally dead on. Cam management and party movement, party size, the quick scale up for combat and inventory/radial management or rules overhead without a ton of tutorializing on that front, sorta just meeting the game where it's at. But just crushes at it by the third session just wiping the floor with rogue bandits and gobbos! On Balanced too! Most impressive for a first out. Dev'zel is a beauty rare, doubtless, but also like it's pretty cool to watch it unfold from the standpoint of learning how to play the game and whether or not the game succeeds in introducing the D&D mechanics in a way that's fun, cause that's very much in keeping with BG I think. They're all fun though. The VA peeps are all rocking it pretty hard, which is fun to see! Like how often does that really happen, where the actors get all into it too! Great stuff hehe
Yeah, I've tuned in a couple times and watch the YT shorts she's posted. Pretty entertaining. And I know she has bigger ambitions than BG, so I threw her a sub as well. Hopefully sooner rather than later she'll get a breakout role in Hollywood.
Just FYI, Astarion and SH's VA's are also streaming the game.
I get amped for these weekend recaps like it's Saturday morning cartoons or something hehehe
Excellent stuff!
Also since it's been a wild wilde month, rewind the tape to that first icebreaker and Bow'ee barbecue... Like best introductions ever! Right?!!!
They're all so good!
ps. random aside from that last video, but Lae'zel should definitely play the drums right? Just as an automatic astral proficiency in that instrument?! I mean right?
Like I'm pretty sure her band is "The Creche" and Lae'zel rocks the drums!?
pps. Also, this is a trip, so in the video where Astarion has Karlach on, and Neil and Sam are talking shop, he breaks down some stuff about how the performance capture works...
The part right before the glorious Titus Pullo references (great spot there!!!, but right before that part) when they're talking about the infrared and the volume and the origin point, like where the performer stands. Here it's right at this part...
I just thought that was cool! A cool angle on what Origin kinda means in that context. Very cool. Also in the Dan Allen interview vids, especially the one with Jaheira, where they talk shop on it. Cool takes there! It's fascinating to hear how it comes together and definitely gives some insight.
Oh and specifically on the Lae'zel/Dev'zel band, so if Karlach is already on Drums (clearly from that one on the exploding barrel drum lol) then Dev'zel on Lead Lute and Bae'zel on the Bass Lute maybe? Still in the Rhythm section!
Probably multiple Lutes is good! Like a Vlaakith Metal thing but with the Astral remix. 'Ride the Lightning' and 'Injustice for Bing Bong' All the classics. This basically...
*spoilers Aradin totally deserved what he got! Goblin of the Week right there for sure... lol
Part 5 World Premiere on youtube! Break out the popcorn heheh
The stakes at the grove are getting so high! I love how the production values get better every time!
Twitch was fun! Didn't even take all the long to set up.
I had to roll with my new Substitute teacher handle on Twitch, class of 1999, cause my usual Black_Elk Heyoka handle was unavailable, go figure lol. Bound to happen waiting like a decade to dive in I suppose. Part of why I've repped it for like 20 years on random BG or NWN boards is cause I liked the idea that if anyone ever googled Black_Elk the first 100 pages or so would all just point to random historical asides and some flavor like that. Rather than rogue ramblings about Axis and Allies or whatever lol, instead they'd see that dude, and maybe learn more important things! I liked that idea, but it's also low key kinda appropriative these days, and not quite the same as the Grey Wolf in BG1 idea I had when I was 16, before I knew anything about anything. Might switch up the one here at some point too if it ain't too confusing, but anyway, repping a more Pam Grier Malcolm McDowell vibe over there, for the Twitch stuff now. Seemed apt! hehe
Devora is doing better than I think anyone else with her audience, she is consistently funny, she knows how to entertain people, and she is quick to pick up on how the game is played. I love her streams.
She also keeps her streams shorter than most which i appreciate. And she has a great series of short clips of her funniest moments which she posts on YT.
the first episode of the devzel playthrough was very painful to watch. like a 30 something just discovered a video game for the first time in her life. but, im glad she seems to be intent on playing through to the end credits.

I started playing video games really late in life and I’ve found the streams delightful, offering a different perspective.
