I would like to live in Italy!! Live there and die there!
I loooove pasta's and pizza's and Chianti (allthought I'm allergic to red wine <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" /> ) But I'm sure they have great white wines too?
And not to speak about the beauty of the country itself!
*Dream on Gal, you're never gonna get there <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />*

Well, if you dig deep enough, I'm sure you will find a bottle of white wine, just put those two together and you have Kirr. Yummie!

Yes, i have white wine, and better, i have champagne. So we can make Kir Royal <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
But i dont have Cherry Liqueur <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
But with Cherry Liqueur and Egg Liqueur you can mix an other good drink. Good if you ask my affianced, i dont drink this sweet stuff <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
The last time i did it was in france for two years, there you can drink a cool Kir Royal (no, not with ice <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> )
You make a normal Glass of Cherry Liqueur and a shoot Egg Liqueur, booth cold.

Edit
In Germany we bring Salt and Breed if someone starts to live in a own house.
This will bring luck and a long good life.

It's new to me ... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

But I think I've vaguely heard of it somewhere ...

Here when one moves in a new home or starts to live in an own house the "tradition" is to pendre la crémaillère (have a house-warming party at the person's place).

So we bring food and alchool.
And this will bring... fiesta. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />

Sorry but "Pendre la crémaillère" is FIRST a french tradition. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/XmasJump.gif" alt="" />

The friends bring food and drinks but also presents for the new home like spoons, forks, dishes, pans, etc.

Do you know what is "la crémaillère" ?

A lot of our traditions are first French traditions; normal since most Quebecers descend of French colonists and that our people is pretty "young". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

As for crémaillère, I only know the mechanical devices called like that; is there another meaning to this word?

Oui la crémaillère est une sorte de crochet en fer que les paysans accrochaient dans la cheminée de la cuisine au dessus du feu afin de pouvoir y suspendre des marmites et des chaudrons dans lesquels ils faisaient cuire la nourriture.

If my French didn't faile on me today, I think this was something about a hook that was attached in the chimney above the fire to hang a big pot, so the farmers could cook their meals in it, I'm a right about it? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
I was just way ahead of übereill here, before he starts asking what you (Barta) said. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/evilgrin1.gif" alt="" />

And where is that Kirr I ordered like a week ago?? Well, if you don' have any Kirr, give me a Martini Rosso instead please.
Can you put some "elfenwing" medicine in it? My wings are fading a little. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

Gal, you have drunk so much you don't remember what I served you? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

My silence doesn't mean I'm not serving you guys/ladies... it means I have to little time to work, to much spent on serving you and brewing drinks.
