This is literally my only complaint with the game. Minthara is one of the most nuanced and interesting companions in the game and most people will never even get to know her because of the massive sacrifices you need to make to recruit her. My suggestion would be to make her available even when you defend the grove by knocking her out (using non-lethal) when fighting her. Then, since she didn't die, she'd appear in Moonrise Towers facing judgement and we'd get to save her and add her to our party. There: a simple, easy solution that literally wouldn't change the story at all. We'd all get a badass drow paladin without losing content, the tieflings, or our morality. Please, Larian, grant me my wish

This should be 2 way but there are ways around it with in game tools its harder to get halsin if you dont want to use tools and want to be evil. Because if you do manage to get halsin to act 2 and you went evil the game will kill him over and over again.

I don't have the heart to play evil tho. I always feel too guilty frown

I did not even know I could recruit her until reading a walkthrough at a later time.
I found Halsin, killed the other two of three "chosen" and then Minthara just attacked me when I finally found her. It was not until several hours into the game later that I learned she was a potential companion.
I agree with the idea of alternative route that does not involve playing evil though. I would like to get to know her, but I always find it hard to role play evil characters. That said, I managed to finally do Renegade with Mass Effect, so maybe there is hope for me to know Minthara!

You're tougher than me then. In Mass Effect, I could only ever play Paragon hahaha

I don't enjoy playing evil either.

Currently, there is a mod that does exactly that - Minthara gets knocked out/poofs out of the fight when she gets to 0 health, the story progresses as usual on a good playthrough, then you meet her again
at Moonrise.
But mods are unavailable for consoles, and she doesn't have a camp spot of her own.

The party agrees to travel with a
dude with a nuke in his chest, a vampire spawn, a gith, a follower of Shar who is a dark goddess just as Lolth is... no one bats an eye when Mizora starts camping with you, and only some companions get upset if you sleep with her.

I am sure her and Halsin could come to an understanding in order to bring down the bad guys, as he is old enough to understand that war can breed unlikely alliances.

She honestly isn't even that bad considering she was literally being mind controlled by the Absolute in act 1. I just want everyone to be available on consoles, you know? PC players are so lucky

I'd love this. We sacrifice way too much to get her. Especially the Potent Robe!
I'm ok with a little sacrifice, decisions have consequences after all but this is way too extreme. Halsin for Minthara feels fair.

I totally agree with that. I don't think that they want us to have Halsin and Minthara at the same time since they've removed all normal ways for that on release. I'm fine with that actually. I'd gladly give up Halsin for Minthy. We already have a druid with Jaheira anyway

...

She's literally a Lolth - Sworn Drow ???

They are "bad", i.e. evil, by definition.

Please no, otherwise there would be nothing that is exclusive to the evil path.

Akshually, she is Absolute Sworn. When she professes her faith in the Omniscient Authroity Figure my Evul! (but very handsome!) Tav had a dialogue option [LOLLTHSWORN DROW] "Kill the apostate!".

Another non Lollthsworn Drow who is a Bad Girl and a card carrying member of Evil Bitches 'R' Us is ... DRUMROLL ... Viconia.

I agree with you that Minthara makes for an interesting companion and would like to see her as recruitable without sacrificing the Druid Grove.

If I recall correctly during my limited evil playthrough, she actually mentions being cut off from the absolute because she's close to the artifact. There's already a thread there to free her from the Absolute and make her a companion without resorting to an evil playthrough. You can play a Lolth-sworn drow as your main character, so there's no reason she can't be pulled in for an "as intended" playthrough. Just needs a few tweaks.

And Shadowheart is sworn to Shar, and objectively, was brainwashed to commit atrocities too - on her own parents no less. Could make argument that she is evil and unless you intervene she will stay that way.

Plenty of quest rewards require you to be evil. A whole companion, with hours of dialogue which their VA spent years recording should not be locked behind a single choice you make imho.

Oh right, I forgot, Viconias alignment was lawful good in BG1 and BG2 !

My bad. astarionhappy

P.s.: Oh and just for precision, Viconia was NOT a Lolth-Sworn. She was a Seldarine. She still was a follower of an evil deity though - Shar.

This. Also, she isn't actually exclusive to an evil path. You can get her on a neutral run by just ignoring the grove altogether. But by doing that, you lose all the tieflings, Halsin, a ton of content, and a lot of amazing rewards (for example: the potent robe). You lose a huge chunk of the game just by wanting her in your party and I don't think it's fair tbh
