ok ,well i played Divine Divinity and i loved it especially all that freedom, with great looking areas to roam around in and kill nd the music really added to it all.

so to my question is Beyond Divintiy worth buying,i have not got it yet as i thought i would wait for patches etc to come out to fix bugs and so on.

i have looked in the forums at views and comments but i thought i would ask again incase peoples views had changed the more they played it.

i know this isnt really a question that can be yes or no but am just after peoples views

Thanks
Phil

I'm really enjoying it. I played Divine Divinity through 3 times, once as a fighter, once as a mage, and once as a thief and I loved that game so much I thought this one's got to be cool. I think it is. There are a lot of similarities and there are a lot of new things. There's still a few quirks (like lockpick not working), but nothing that would prevent you from thoroughly having fun with the game. I think Beyond Divinity is going to have the same replayability value as Divine Divinity did. I'm playing the main character as a fighter and my DK as a mostly a mage right now, but I can't wait to see what it will be like playing the main character as a thief. I really loved those Scorpion traps in Divine Divinity. They kicked butt! I'm in Act 3. Act 1 is a little slow, Act 2 was great, and there seems to be a big jump in difficulty with the creatures between Act 2 and Act 3. I believe if you like rpgs and you liked Divine Divinity, you'll like this. Of course, that's just my opinion.

Happy Gaming!

I'll second that ... I'm just about done with Act two and exploring each and every nook and cranny just as I did with DD. I kinda miss the wide open spaces and I'm hoping to get "outdoors" into the sun in future acts! VERY playable as a survivor to spite missing lock picking (hoping the next patch fixes THAT!).

Seems like the big-ticket weapons and armor are a bit more accessible because
of the battlefield approach, and the battlefields kind of guarantee you'll be ready to handle each act because of the "extra" experience and goodies that are available.

Bottom line: if you liked DD you'll like BD ... just set aside another month for fun gameplay!
