Hi,

I just bought BD a couple of weeks ago and have been slowly winding my way through the world. My hero is a warrior, and my DK is a mage. From what I've read on these posts, it seems like the mage should specialze in hammer and lightning storm. Offensively, it seems like the hero is best off with the accuracy weapon mastery skill and sharpen. But defensively, what is the best skill, evasion, armor usage or shield usage? I haven't seen much on this topic, and I kind of want to benefit fromn the wisdom of the ages.

Hey. I haven't invested in defensive skills much at all. I put 2 points into Armor. I have played RPG's for years and I always play single-handed weapons with shield. I thought with BD I would play 2-handed weapons for a change. I picked slashing for my hero, and crushing for my DK. I have pumped all other skill points into those weapons. I must tell you that so far nothing has lived long enough for me to need many points in defensive. I have found some awesome 2-handed weapons and even though slower, am quickly killing all comers. We'll see how they do later in the game.

... on the other hand have always used by DK for close up work and found his amour OK (though enhanced later in the game with various 'Yits' - see another thread).

Have always used the 'hero' for ranged weapons trouble is even when my 'hero' is a wizard never get to use wizardry as always have too many arrows to use up.

You may like to consider using the DK as a grunt concentrating on close work (swords and sheild or double handed sword) and to develop your hero to be a more 'all round' character.

At least you can change/upgrade your Hero's items whereas the options for DK are somewhat limited to rings, belts and amulets.
