PS5 - I picked up a mindflayer specimen on my main character. When I looked in my inventory it wasn't there. I checked all four characters, but the specimen was no where to be found. A little later, I stumbled on a dirt patch to dig up. I carry a shovel on all four characters, but when I tried to dig up the mound all four shovels were gone. I had a shovel at camp, so I went and picked it up, then went back to the mound. When I tried to dig up the mound, the shovel was gone.

Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround?

1 - I had boots go "invisible" in the inventory, i.e. their icon was not displayed. But as I had just used "arrange by type" and the junkyard was orderly, I guessed that the empty box - amidst other "stuff" - could be the missing item.
2 - I had a problem with shovels "refusing to work" - everybody had a shovel but I got "I will not dig with my hands" replies. This issue was caused by the "named shovel" from the cave leading to the cellar under the Apothecary in Blighted Village.


But empty inventories do happen - e.g. in one playthrough Shadowheart, freshly out of the Nautiloid, on the beach, had an EMPTY inventory. No scrolls, no Magical 20 of World Salvation, no Health Potions, nothing!
A known issue, the inventory magcally refilled itself a minute and a a few clicks later :P

So far, it's only been the mind flayer and five shovels, and I managed to get the flayer, as well as two of the shovels. I shut the game down and restarted, That brpught back the aforementioned flayer and two shovels. But the other three shovels seem to have permanently vanished.

Playing couch co-op with my wife and both of us have had ‘stuff’ go missing for no apparent reason.

Also in two other games I’m playing Karlach in one game, and Lae’zel in an other lose whatever clothes/armor they are wearing. No amount of stripping and putting on again works (bug?)

By any chance these issues appear in the Mountain Pass/Creche section?

I play on PC and had no problems so far, curious though, what is a Mindflayer Specimen? Dead body?

I know you can pick up a Intellect Devourer Cerebellum (brain) and that's a alchemical Ingredent. Dark Mind and Slave Mind green glass jars, Bombs, shells, chests, 4 ruin slates, Illithid Record, Eldritch Tablet, and a Illithid Manuscript.

Yeah, kept thinking it was from the ship, my current play through isn't that far, my bad.
