There are two things giving me pause about buying any DLC for this game:
1) The first is that it doesn't feel like "Forgotten Realms". This is being addressed in another thread so I won't spend much time on it. "Forgotten Realms" is Heroic Fantasy according to the DM's guide, but really most of the novels are Epic Fantasy. It isn't "Dark Sun", or "Ravenloft", or "Call of Chthulu", or a Fantasy version of the "-Punk" genres like Shadowrun. They may handle the same monsters and subject matter, but they handle it differently. Cut scenes that force you to stand and watch horrific acts you are trying to intervene to stop are a BAD IDEA. But worst of all is the devs apparently somewhat sociopathic addiction to blood-spatter. Not that it would be inappropriate if this were a "Conan the Barbarian" story. But it's not, it's jarring, and the difficulty they make you go to to get rid of it isn't "immersive"; it just makes me mildly angry at the game developers in a way that takes me out of the story. Heroes don't converse covered in blood, just because they ran out of ways to wash up or were forced into an early cut scene.
So here is poll #1: Do you want a blood-spatter toggle like we have the nudity toggle?
2) I'm not sure why my second issue wasn't obvious. Why not have a player sexuality toggle? Is your character Heterosexual, Bi-sexual, or Homosexual. This would totally get around all the issues of unwanted advances by making every NPC "player-sexual". Conversation options would be flagged for only the appropriate settings and only appear when the player might be open to it. The people you want to be friends with would just be friends.
I hope these changes can be implemented in the base game, but I would definitely want them before buying any DLC... well except one that let's players make their own campaigns and DM them to the community. That I would buy in a heartbeat.
