There is one thing that is in BG1 and 2 that is REALLY not in BG3 and that is a date system. When the game starts you have NO idea what day it is let alone the year. You really dont get any idea of what day it is till you get to Baldur's Gate and buy a newspaper. But you should at least have an idea of what month and year it is from the start. In BG1 you had a time icon in the bottom left of the UI that let you know what time of day it was and day even. But now you dont even have that. So you really have no scale of time.

The game has no day and night cycle either <- not a complain.

Yes, I also feel we are unmoored in time. I have posted about this somewhat extensively in my thread "Spacetime Considerations - about BG3's flawed (non-)implementation of time and distance"

Mentioned since day 1 of EA.

Day/Night, Dynamic weather and time. The cornerstone of a great RPG, sadly lacking. Particularly for a Baldur's Gate game...something all the other games had.

"You do not need to have all of these for a great RPG." Is commonly argued.
Like you do not need to have 18 different classes and countless races and over 300 spells, 500 hair dyes, ...etc... ?

Argue all you want, I think these are crucial to be immersed and have fun in the world.

It just reminded me of the bowl of goat's milk that old Winthrop used to put outside his door every evening for the dust demons. He said the dust demons could never resist goat's milk, and that they would always drink themselves into a stupor and then be too tired to enter his room..
