Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Game takes forever to load

When I lauch the game and it gets to the screen where there is the % counter in the lower right, once it hits 100% it just sits there for 7-10 minutes, then it continues on. I'm not sure what's going on. I'm running Win 11, i5-13600KF CPU, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB M2 hard drive, graphics card is RTX 3070 drivers are 3 months old at this point. Once it gets past this screen, the game runs great with no issues. This started going on shortly after the last big patch to the game.

Are you using the GoG launcher?

I have the same problem and I observed it's linked to the pop-up "Now playing Baldur's Gate 3" not triggering at the bottom right, which might indicates that connecting to whatever GoG server takes time.

If you start the game without the GoG launcher then the problem disappears (but online play is likely not possible and achievements are not tracked).

I got the same issue after 5h playing, resart the game but when it reaches 100% then nothing. brand new pc, driver’s updated and enough disc space. Anyone help, did you find a solution ?

Did you try bypassing the launcher? That works for me...
Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\bin
Launch either bg3.exe or bg3_dx11.exe (Vulkan or DirectX)
