Fun fact: Ketheric Torm is a level 11 undead and doesn't have the same ability as the skeleton in our camp. It seems to me that this was done on purpose and there should be some content there for those who decide to check, Larian can give him level 12 or resistance to control over undead, but he is level 11 without this ability

Technically, is it possible to gain enough experience to reach level 12 by the time you meet Ketherick? Especially when he's invulnerable.

This would allow the protagonist to take control of Myrkul's chosen one and add him to the party as our servant. Incredible thing to break the game and the plot

An interesting idea, but I don't think it's possible to get lvl 12 in act 2, even if you murder hobo everyone for exp. I generally do everything there is to do and am lvl 10 by the time of his Apostle fight. Maybe if you murder hobo'd everyone, so the Grove, Last Light, Myconids you might get to lvl 11. But 12 is just not possible without mods.

Secret Companion Ketheric Torm

We need to try using cheats for experience, mods, or something like that

I was doing all quests and killing everyone in my playthrough for that yummy xp, and never got to lvl 12 against Ketheric. It'd be impossible but an interesting suggestion none the less. I only got as high as lvl 10 against him.

What happens if you play the game solo, using only the main character? Will he gain more experience and be able to reach level 12?

There's no way. All experience is distributed the same. For example, gaining Wyll later on, you should be lvl 3 by then. When he joins he will also be lvl 3. If anything it will cripple your xp in fights where there are other parties involved fighting the same thing, they can steal xp from you if you never landed a hit.

Another way of explaining it is, at the very beginning on the nautiloid when you make your first kill with Laezel which should be an imp, you get 10 xp, then later get Shadowheart and kill an imp, it's still 10 xp. Each character will get the same xp from that kill, it isn't divided.

If you released the brain on the nautiloid and made it follow you, if you have it kill anything before you hit the target, it will steal xp from you. You should be lvl 2 right after the crash.

One thing you can do in the underdark if you are a lolth-sworn drow female, make sure Dhourn survives, convince him to give you the memory crystal without a fight, you will get a ton of xp, then kill him and the other petrified drow for more xp.

One more thing, I highly suggest having companions bc they have quests and inspirations. Check inspiration guide for more xp.

That works for Seldarine Drow female as well. I play currentlyy as a cleric of Eilistraee (the good drow goddess opposed to Lloth), but Dhourn doesn't know that and I don't tell him, as far as he's concerned I'm a 'mistress' rofl
