EMPTY????

OK, so I was willing to give Larian the benefit of the doubt when it became clear that Act 3 was just going to be the lower city and not much else... it was pretty much what I was hoping for it to be--a living, bustling city--and maybe there would be expansions to go back out beyond the city, etc.

But when I finally get down to the undercity, and with excitement I behold its ruinous splendor... and then start to realize as I keep going down and down and down that there's NOTHING HERE?? I feel genuinely insulted. The area was clearly designed with multiple spots (the empty camps??) as battle sites where you would run into SOMETHING-- ANYTHING!-- but they couldn't even bother to put 2 or 3 trash mob battles in to make an ENDGAME area DIFFICULT?? It feels like playing a hacked, unfinished version of the game in a pre-Alpha state! And it's a huge disservice to the artists who clearly put a lot of heart into an area that was just absolutely WASTED by the game designers.

REALLY disappointed here. Cannot overstate how poorly this colors the rest of my experience of the game in retrospect. It's a complete nothingburger entirely devoid of substance, and completely neuters what's supposed to be the climactic dungeon crawl of the game.

(Edit: also don't get me started on the "witty banter" between Shadowheart and Gale if you have them in your group... that was the final insult right there. "Hey! We didn't bother putting anything in the last dungeon-- here's a terrible, pointless sexual innuendo instead!" It's a perfect metaphor for how they just gave up at the finish line more broadly with what was so close to being a truly great game.)

I'm talking about everything behind the door you open with Bhaal's amulet, not the sewers.

So the Temple of Bhaal?

It's just where you find Orin, there are just the Bhaalist the middle section where you fight and the Chamber where you can find and resurrect his mother. I mean it's relatively small temple.

I think the only other encounter on that general area is that Bhaalist ambush/test before you entering the Temple.

Or is it the area where the statue recite Alaundo's prophecy? I think that place is purposely empty to make us feels like it's abandoned crypt... which it kinda how it was in the original game.

No, the area between the sewers and the temple of bhaal, hence the name of the post.
