Both of the weapons have a tendency to not return properly. I think it's just slow to return sometimes, because this problem is reduced a lot if you just wait a bit.

However this problem compounds if you are using both later on. For example, the Nyrulna explosion will friendly fire. So waiting for the fist to turn into a weapon is not a good judge; you have to check inventory or scan the battlefield.

Leaving one of the weapons on the battlefield at some point and only finding out later is a painful experience. I have used them in 2 games, and in both I only ended up with one of them because I had no idea where they might be.

Suggestion: Have those two weapons return to the thrower at combat end so they don't get left somewhere.

Since the last Patch, the Returning Pike just completely disappears. It used to not return periodically, now its just lost to the void if it kills something.

The problem is that the game has some delays stutter.
Even if you don't see it.
So if you trow the weapon you need to wait that is returned until you press end turn. Because if you press end turn before that it will not return. I don't have such a huge knowledge with programming I did 34 years ago something in basic ^^ that is my experience. But it feels like not the pike has issue something else is the problem here generally with trows makes the game stutter.

It seems a lot better in Patch 4; I haven't had any issues either with the returning pike, or the Eldritch Knight weapon return. I have avoided Act 3, though. The lag there probably makes the problem worse.
