I cheated and climbed the vines at the left side of the tower to get to Thorm.

I did this to avoid mega fight. Is there a way to the lower level without fighting that entire room? He escaped and some tentacle thing killed the angel.

You don't have to go to the lower level for anything, you need to enter trough the hole from what the tentacle come from

Found it. Thanks. Now I have scores of undead or ilithids instead lol. This is why I'm a sports gamer. My party is without camp supplies and I'm really hurting lol
