This may have been mentioned but I cannot find it anywhere but on the steam forums where it is being mentioned everywhere right now.

For many people, myself included, the game will load find but when it gets to the main menu where you can choose to create a new game, load an old game etc., the menu is there for a split second and then it disappears. People on steam are saying they hear that it is a problem with GeForce but no one can confirm anything and no one can confirm that it is even being fixed.

The game is literally unplayable. I have tried both direct x 11 and vulkan with geforce and neither work. Many, including myself, have tried this with modded game and unmodded game, to no avail.

I do not own video creation programs and do not know how to create a video of what is going on.

The problem is if you are using GeforceNow to play. They shut the game down to fix it. It has nothing to do with your drivers on your computer or Vulkan vs dx11. If you are using the service you just have to wait until it's fixed.

Not meaning to sound rude toward the previous poster, whom I do appreciate posting. I do wish to point this out however.

I am using Steam. This is not solely about using nVidia's service to load the game.

I do not use and have Never used GeForceNow.

I do use GeForce Drivers because my video card is an nVidia card.

For anyone who needs it:

This issue - in a lot of cases - seems to be related to leftover Patch .pak files from before Patch 4.

- Navigate to your Baldur's Gate 3 Install Folder's "Data" folder.
- Find every .pak starting with "Patch" or "Patch_"
- Delete them.
- Restart Baldur's Gate 3.

With Patch 4, most of the pre-existing patches are now referenced in the PsoCache file. Deleting the Patch .pak's themselves seems to solve the invisible character/missing main menu button issue.
This has been a confirmed fix for many Nvidia users, and a multitude of AMD users.

Sadly I had no "Patch" pak files in my data folder.

I have elected to uninstall BG3, manually delete both the larian folder in user and baldur's gate 3 folder in steam, so that the game is hopefully completely wiped out of my system and I am trying to do a completely fresh install now. I hope this fixes it.
