Had a similar thing happen with a crash when trying to mess about with DLSS and anti-aliasing video settings.
Prior to patch 4 I had been running Vulkan as well. I switched to Dx 11 cause I couldn't figure it out.
I've randomly switched between these two a few times, even though I have no preference there and no skin in the game on that one. The only thing that grinds me to a halt in any game is audio stutter or audio crackle, I can handle most visual annoyances, like the occasional acid tripping DLSS visuals, but never audio stuff which will drive me instantly into the settings to try and find a solution.
I was able to fix an audio stutter issue I was having with patch 3 by turning off bloom in Vulkan, prior to that I had been using Dx11, but the more recent crash thing there had me switch back again. It feels kinda random.
Oh and I'm using an MSI Raider laptopn GE68 hx13v, so i9 with the RTX 4060, that they were pushing out the door with various sales. Screen on that model is 16:10 so basically upscaling from a 1200p to 1600p via the DLSS I guess? I honestly haven't messed with it much cause it had been pretty buttery thus far. I didn't really expect to play it all crazy heavy weight, and I'm perfectly happy with a 1080/1200p, cause laptop and all, but I was getting better performance from DLSS than downscaling the resolution. Obviously crashing had me exploring whatever options would avoid that happening, hence the switcheroo.
Anyhow I don't all the ins and outs, but just figured it was worth a reply since I saw pretty much the same as the OP.
ps. tried Vulkan again just now to double check - same deal with CTD when attempting to change from Quality to Balanced and the such. This time I got the crash report though so sent the ticket along. Switching back to DX11 it works as normal.
