In the Blighted Village where Shadowheart's magic wound causes her pain after reading a certain school journal, the entire dialogue scene is actually blocked from progressing because of some weird invalid option warning.

Oh my god, I’ve never seen this scene! How do you trigger it?

With Shadowheart in the party, loot & read the school journal about the missing children located in the bookshelf behind the ogres.

Oh man… I’ve looted and read that journal many times, but never got that cutscene. That really sucks. Maybe there’s something wrong with the trigger for it, too.

Hang on, is this the same cutscene you get when you walk up to the Selune statue as well? I think I always get it there. Anyway, I hope they fix the dialogue for you soon.

Just tried it on a fresh save, triggered the scene in the school house, and you’re right it says that the dialogue option is no longer valid. Frustrating!

I had the exact same problem! Never had this issue before this new hotfix.

Thanks for confirming that it happens at the broken statue spot too, looks like this entire dialogue is bugged then.

I'll try seeing if the same happens after Shadowheart reveals her secret, since she does have unique dialogue for these scenes before and after the secret.

EDIT: Her post-secret scene does work, so it's pretty much bugged for pre-secret Shadowheart.

I found a work around on reddit. When that dialogue option comes up save and reload. It got me two new options to progress the dialogue though I think it may be skipping steps. Still up to you either option invalid or jump ahead on the quest a bit.

Was hoping hotfix 11 would have fixed this, but this is still prevalent and worse yet, its happening in more scenarios regarding Shadowheart on my durge run.

Just letting everyone know here that Support is aware of the issue and they're working on fixing this, so most likely next hotfix or next big patch will fix this.

To avoid this one can simply go to the Owlbear Cave and let Shadowheart reveal her secret, then come back and read the book in front of her.
