I use 5 individual saves and continually overwrite the oldest at the end of each play session. During a session I might make a few quick saves here and there and then of course any auto saves that occur. I'll delete any quick and auto saves after doing a full save to one of my main save files just to keep things clean.

I only get to play a few hours on the weekends, and have a little over 80 hours into the campaign. I went to load up the game on October 29, and noticed the location, hours played, and date in the load screen showed a location I hadn't been to in a awhile and it said I only had 50 hours played and the date was September 30. I've played multiple times with multiple saves since Sept 30.

Looking at the load screen, the same 5 saves I've been overwriting are there, but they are now reverted or rolled back to some point in the past. Considering they've been saved over multiple times since then, I'm not sure how this could happen. Additionally, a few random quick saves and auto saves I had deleted from back then are also now showing up again.

It appears the entire save file was rolled back to a point on September 30.

When I look at the save file date/time stamp in the console storage, it shows Oct 28 with a time that matches when I saved from the previous day before logging off. The save file in the cloud storage shows the same Oct 28 date/timestamp - and I have it set to autosync between the console and cloud as is. I had not connected into the Larian servers within the game, so no cross saves at play, and only have one single player campaign going.

I've seen reports of people loosing their saves and various options to try (disconnect from internet, delete console save and download from cloud, etc.) though none of these have worked. In my case, my save files (slots) are not gone, they are there, just rolled back to some random point in the past.

I have to assume the latest save is actually there, and the issue may be related to some pointer within the file that can be fixed/resolved (hopefully!) as I've overwritten these saves some 10+ times between those two dates.

At this point, I've lost 30+ hours and don't quite have the motivation to do all of that again since that was about a month's worth of time for me. I had hoped Patch #4 would have fixed it, and then again with Hotfix #10, but alas, it hasn't.

Have others experienced this same issue? I haven't played since as I'm hoping a fix will correct the save file and don't want to do any additional saves to the file in case that prevents a fix from being applied.

This exact thing happened to me two days ago. I played some in the morning with multiple quick saves and a manual save, everything seeming normal. Launched the game later that evening and found all of my saves (manual/auto/quick) had reverted to Oct 22, losing 40 hours of gameplay. No apparent issues with my local save file or PlayStation online storage/sync. Cross saves were not turned on at the time, but I turned it on while troubleshooting- appeared to upload the same saves that I could see from Oct. 22. This does NOT appear to be a local save file corruption issue. I submitted a bug ticket but not exactly holding my breath. I was really enjoying this campaign. Now, gutted and disappointed, the prospect of replaying so soon is less than appealing.

Edit: I wanted to also clarify that I attempted all of the known fixes for lost or “unable to load” saves that addressed previous issues reported by others. No luck there.
