I also tried (but didn't snap a pic of) Wyll wearing other clothing (Mighty Cloth) and it functioned normally on him.

Pic shows pretty much the exact distance at which the robe's texture will glitch. Viewed from closer in than that, it looks normal, anything at that distance or further away, it'll look weird.

It's dyed on my play-through (Black and Jade Green... I *think*), but since it doesn't glitch out when Karlach's wearing it (as you can see in the other picture), I don't think dye/certain color-combinations is what's causing this.

It also happens pretty much everywhere on the Shadowcursed Lands map and under all sorts of lighting conditions. Haven't had a chance to test it in "non-cursed" lighting yet, obviously.. smile

I also don't remember that Robe doing that on any of my other play-throughs and I did run a sorcerer-tav two play-throughs ago who was constantly wearing that robe.

This is on an RTX 4070 at 1440p, Custom Settings with everything on max except clouds and fog (both set to high). DLAA is enabled (can't switch it off without the game CTDing since patch 4, anway :P ) and the game is running in borderless window mode and in Vulkan.

Oookaaay... and now *this* happened:

https://im.ge/i/yzDmj6

That was right after a long rest and after having spoken to Gale after his "night under the stars" scene.

After talking to Gale, I went to talk to Wyll next, and this is the result.

Never happened before, either. After re-starting the game, I tried unequipping the robe from him, thinking that might fix it, but it didn't. It also happened when I tried to talk to him far away from his "idling place" in front of his tent.

The game hadn't crashed ... Scratch was still running around the camp and ESC would open the in-game menu. I could switch to a third character and would see the speech-bubbles next to Wyll's and my Tav's portraits.

Pressing RMB/Space to skip about five times or so finally started the conversation just like normal.

I still find it pretty amusing to see the ... errr... Alien visitor, shall we say, at camp. Him showing up like that happened every single time, BTW.

I have potent robe texture glitch too, but on Gale. If the camera is far away it goes blank/grey. When I get close with the camera it appears again.

Interesting... I hadn't tested Gale since I always have either Wyll or Gale in my party - never both.

Horns/skin color aside, both Gale and Wyll are human males with the "small" body-type - so perhaps that's what's causing this?

I suppose I could go back to a save-game of my previous Tav who was a small body-type human male to test this. Since he was a Bard, I never used the Potent Robe on him during his play-through.

I have encountered the same bug with the potent robe. Thought at first it was a dye mod problem, but apparently not.

Tested the robe on Halsin and Shadowheart (to test the body type theory) and it was fine, on all other male "small" body type characters (my Tav, Astarion, Gale, Wyll) I get the textureless glitch.

Update:

Just started the whole Larroakan quest and the robe he wears uses the same model as the Potent Robe. And his robe on his "small male"-body suffers the same glitch as the Potent Robe does on Wyll.

Again saw the same thing, same robe.

At camp Wyll will often blink in and out with the robes showing white, then it will reset to the regular color as I close the distance. I had dyed the robe a different so I thought that was the issue, but interesting to see it happening still on Larroakan. Maybe I just didn't notice it there cause of a the spell vxf and such.

Anyhow similar deal there for me. I was wondering if it was also DLSS doing it's thing again. I also get the texture snap delay of like half a second sometimes on convoy, which I figured maybe was the related. Not sure, all seems kinda recent just in the past week or so.

I wasn't sure if it was a patch 4 thing before getting to the Larroakan scenes. Now I'm very sure it's a patch 4 thing, because I had always done that quest on all my play-throughs and his robe never glitched out for me before.

Not sure what it is, but seeing how it'll only happen on certain body types (small/male, as far as I can tell) and not on others, I imagine it involves the body-models and that type of robe "clashing" somehow. Or perhaps there's a texture/skin for that iteration of the robe missing or the skin's file is mis-named. I mean... I would imagine every piece of clothing/armor having multiple variants/models, meant to fit different body-types.

Like I said earlier: The robe works just fine on Karlach for example.
