Could someone please tell me exactly what is causing the massive action delay in Act III - ie does a certain campaign trigger cause it, or is it a hardware issue, is there a database overflow, what? Does anyone know at all? How do *we* fix this *issue* ourselves?
Can't believe y'all added "sponge baths" to the game but won't tell us what could be causing the action delay bug...

You mean when in combat you make any action or hit someone, but it takes like 10 seconds for the character to react, like online lag?

I don't know what causes it to be honest, but it happens throughout the game randomly although rarely. Could be perhaps analytics being sent or recorded.

It seems to be a save file related issue. I had saves from 4 different runs at various stages, and the problem seems to affect only runs that were STARTED after the patch 4 was applied. Older save files work perfectly. I suspect this is linked to some new attempt at performance/size optimization. Older save files probably contain some information that is missing from the new ones, so the game tries (VERY slowly) to load these when needed. The fact that there was a hotfix released a few days ago without solving this major bug is not the best sign. It could happen that these new save files are irrevocably corrupted. In any case I had to put my recent run on hold, because it is unplayable.

More like over a minute or three to walk between areas... pretty much what you said but amplified. I've read numerous reasons but they are all theoretical - from killing jaheira because of an issue there, to clearing your camp storage to save file corruption.... It would just be nice to know exactly what exactly the issue is - it doesn't need to be fixed to comment on it at least. If we knew the issue was, we could avoid doing said issue while waiting for the next patch update.

I've had enemies sit around for a good 30 seconds after moving while the game waits to let whatever action it's trying to use execute.

Since so many people are having the same issue it is clear that the problem is not us. I'd recommend waiting for the next patch. There are other games out there until then.

what causes it is system i.e, your hardware is doing something else or waiting for something... its normally Ram but it can also be heat making things throttle

I really thoroughly disagree that this is a hardware issue - or it would happen across all character saves - however it doesn't - some character saves have the delay and others don't. It also would be fixed if turning the settings down to minimum , unless there was specifically something wrong with the hardware. I've migrated the save to another computer on a different hardware setup and it still displays the same issue. Fyi, I'm on a PC.
