<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" /> Hi,

I've got a simple question <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/exclamation.gif" alt="" /> How do you tell what items are stackable <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/question.gif" alt="" />

Thanks for the answers.

Almost all of them, I think.

What do you use to define stackable?

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" /> Hi,

I guess putting one on top of another in the inventory. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

potions, plants, holy bowls, arrows are stackable.
If you have potions with different values, they will stack seperately. E.g.: you have the alchemy extract skill on lvl 2 and make a small potion. This will have the values of a medium potion and therefore you will see 2 stacks of small potions in your inventory, but only one icon in your potion bar.

Stackable items will stack themselves, you don't have to do that yourself.

Have had problems with stacking as well - especially arrows, shields, weapons, gems and potions.

Items that appear identical (for example Normal Arrows, and minor potions) do not stack - well at least they do but not always: gems are another problem there appear to be loads of occasions when I have had multiple stacks of the same item (say rubies or emeralds) of the same weight and value.

Think maybe that this may be another design problem in that _all_ similar items must stack (that is similar as far as the ID skill is involved) but don't. If this worked properly would save considerable time when trading in the battlefields.

Have to admit though that this is yet another inconvenience - it does not stop the game play or is that serious - just stops BD being nominated for game of the year.

Sooo close yet so far

Gems => could it be they have different values?
Arrows => in earlier versions some arrows had different values. When I patched, they changed their names but didn't stack. Example (made it up now) => 7 poison arrows of the viper - after patching to 1.44, they changed to simple poison arrows, but did not stack with the other ones.

so, did you patch and get the info: "BD has detected a prob with your save, click yes to fix it"?
