To my surprise in my latest playthrough Astarion told my character that he was a vampire first thing on our first night in camp. Now I've reached the bite scene, and my character suddenly sees him for what he truly is--a vampire?!! Her dialogue choices are to say that she couldn't believe she didn't see it before (a particularly unlikely response as he'd actually told her what he was!!!), to ask him how long it's been since he killed someone, or to grab a stake. None of these options seemed a logical follow-up to their earlier rather chill discussion. In my opinion the scenes would work much better if Astarion either didn't share his secret earlier or if the bite scene omitted the realization that he is a vampire (in cases where the PC has already been informed of this) and an option to react to the bite attempt in a boundary-setting manner.
