Came back to the game today - I haven't played since well before Patch 4 - and of course the first thing I did was ask Astarion for a snog (obvs).

Unfortunately, while sweetly enthusiastic as always, he has utterly forgotten how to go about it, and we ended up in a very peculiar clinch where he sort of 'air nibbled' my forehead, and I kind of shoved my face in his jacket (I've forgotten too it seems.)

I felt someone should know.

Patch #4 broke the kiss, hotfix #11 made it worse. It's known.

Aside from that a few other things around Astarion broke, like the epilogue scene and quest progression in act II for example.

To quote Larian: We are aware of an issue with kissing animations for Astarion, and are currently working on a fix. We expect this to be released in a future update.

Thank you so much for responding. I will quietly step away and patiently wait for a fix.

I did do a forum search for 'Astarion kissing' but it didn't return relevant threads. Perhaps I didn't look properly.
