I absolutely LOVE Barcus Wroot!

He is the most adorable NPC ever and I wish that he was a recruitable companion and a romance option!

We need a short race romance option, please Larian!

Please no. What happens when you retroactively make a NPC into a companion you can see with Halsin.

Barcus already has his place in the story and is one of the better NPCs. Leave him there.

Barcus is love, but the core of his character is that he is not cut out to be an adventurer. When he tries to do it anyway, he ends up captured and in need of being saved.

I love Barcus, he is my favourite side character, but I do agree with Ixal here - he could become a second Halsin. Yes, unlike the sex obsessed druid, Barcus actually has a plot in act 3, but I would still fear, his character could be destroyed.
That said: give us an artificer gnome as companion (and the class with it). I absolutley would love that.

The thing with Barcus is that in the Grymforge, you can say to him go to my camp. And he actually turns up there. So, it wouldn’t change that much to let him stay in your camp. It wouldn’t change his story, because he is going to Baldur’s gate either way, and because he is a terrible adventurer, letting him stay in our camp is safer than him going there alone.

But I understand what you guys are saying, and your worries.

But like you said Fylimar, if Larian make another gnome artificer as companion, I would love that too!

It sounds cool with a werewolf as a companion. But I don't see how they would get her in the game now. She was apparently going to be trapped in the goblin camp, but because Halsin is trapped there, I think it would be weird if they do the same with her.

I think it would be easier to make an companion with someone that is already in the game. For example Thulla or Philomeen.

I love Barcus too, I'd be thrilled for any and all new content with him. He doesn't need to become a full companion - he could just hang around camp like so many others end up doing in Act III. I want to talk more with him! And, y'know, wouldn't mind that kiss, really.
