Minsc is by far the worst character. I spent hours in those disgusting, toxic sewers and running around the Coin House to end up with the pea-brained, low IQ, bald John Travolta on steroids specimen with an unbelievably irritating accent. AND that deluded old hag Jaheira leaves if you kill her. I betrayed them both and turned them into pulp during the Sarevok scene and became an unholy assassin. What a good riddance. Jaheira probably gets railed really good if she can tolerate him. I see no other way. God. Awful. More I play game more I m starting to get annoyed by certain characters. I cannot stand him. By 'worst,' I mean bad for Larian standards; still very high compared to other games, he is the most poorly written and irritating. It's not a surprise since you get him last. What an idiot Minsc.

As a fan of BG1&2 I did enjoy two characters mentioned, but they do feel like they don’t quite belong, and as new characters final acts seem underdeveloped at a cost of the new comers I don’t blame for anyone reacting this way.

Personally, I wish the whole game was closer to act3, as I care for Minsc and Jaheira thanks to BG1&2, but BG3 didn’t manage to make me like or care for the new cast, but to each their own.

Minsc probably would have been better if he was an Act 1 recruit instead of Act 3 as was originally intended. Kinda funny that they had tie-in comics bringing him back through the whole petrification loophole giving him a backstory with his new adventuring group, establishing him being infected with the tadpole as a prequel to the game....even putting him prominently in the magic the gathering bg 3 promotional tie-in, and then cut him almost entirely from the game. Very odd choice.

Yeah, he could have been in there sooner, but I was kind of nostlagic, when we finally recruit him - and I didn't even like Minsc that much in the original game. I was more fangirling over Jaheira though. She is one of my favourite characters from teh first two games and I really think, Larian did her justice, I just love her, especially with good Durge.

Yesss to you both! I love how Jaheira becomes good Durge's mother figure, such a beautiful relationship!

But judging by OP's comments I can only assume they have never played the originals. Otherwise they would have known that Jaheira does not get "railed" by Minsc. For Minsc's one true love is Boo!

Aw, man, don't be so harsh on Minsc! I think he's mostly there as an easter egg for old players. I have to say though, this thread gave me a good laugh despite the clear negativity. Minsc is just a silly loveable himbo, meanwhile Jaheira is his wise caretaker who has to tolerate his antics hug

A himbo and "his Wychlaran."

Minsc and Jaheira are a FANTASTIC throwback to the OG games and are the perfect foil for one another. It sucks that Minsc wasn't added until Act 3 as he'd have fit right in with the Druid grove storyline, but Jahiera and Minsc were permanently in my party together for RP reasons, even if I only just needed one of them.
