What are the dumbest ways you've died? Optional Challenge: Explain your death in 10 words or less. Examples: Entire party accidentally stood in Gale's Necrotic Aura.
- Had Astarion to stab me to death, to avoid killing Alfira (and Quil) -Myrkul, God of Bones, yeeting Astarion into the Chasm. -Duegars yeeting characters off catwalks and throwing them in lava
What are the funniest kills you've made? Optional Challenge:Explain using the perspective of the NPC you just killed. Examples:
Player's Perspective: Tooted Lump's Horn (hahaha, made myself laugh with the wording) during the Hag battle. Ogres didn't kill Mayrina, so I did.
Mayrina's Perspective: I went to the hag to bring Connor back. She keeps force feeding me, put me in a cage and hung me over a Chasm. These four interfering adventurers tried to "save" me and my unborn child by killing the Hag. I tried explaining to them I don't need their help. They stabbed me to death, and peed on Connor's stick.
I cheat my way out of dying 99% of the time, but I did
manage to piss off a certain lich queen enough that she zapped me. I was impressed that the game followed through on the obvious and logical consequences of defying her. Unfortunately it just means that I skip the creche now because my characters are inevitably going to end up dead.
"So, this is honor mode huh? This is too easy, I'm winning everything too quick. I'm going to roleplay more and just approach everything without a tactical thought and not always claiming the first turn."
Alright, on to 'saving' a certain Drow in the Underdark.
"Waaaahaaaaa look at these Duergar fall. I'm still kicking arse!" - Blam! Shadowheart is in the lava, dead. - Okay, reposition Gale and raise her on the shore. Survival instinct on her, done. She can heal herself up pretty quickly. - Blam! Gale in the lava, dead. Oh, well, shit. Never mind. I can win this without Gale, heal up Shadowheart and I'll raise him after. - Blam! Shadowheart in the lava, dead. Oh, ffs. Fine. Between Astarion and Karlach, we can take out these bastards easily. - Blam! Karlach is charmed. Oooooooh shit. - Blam! Karlach being my main character, she is *loaded* as teh designated hitter with all the best stuff. Murders Astarion in a single turn.
I managed to finish the fight with just Karlach, but it was definitely close.
I once got crushed to death. By a pike. That I was throwing.
One time I got curious and
kissed the dying mind flayer in the nautiloid wreckage
I also called the bluff of
Vlaakith, turns out she wasn't lying
I've died several times because I forget that holding a torch (Or burning weapon like the Everburn Blade) will automatically ignite surfaces you walk on which often gives a surprise in
the Zhentarim Hideout. Also in the Goblin Camp behind the trader where the barrels of Smokepowder and Oil are.
1 of my First Runs i Mocked Vlakith in the encounter.. I was the Durge in that Run and i was a True Cyco scumbag too..haha so i Waived for her.. like yu guys see in the videos.. But then of course i had to keep making Fun of the Game.. so..xD yeah.. yu guys knows whats happen.haha was really fun to see that first Time, i did not had see on Youtube Yeat so was First Hand a Slap in a Face from the Game..haha xD

I've never done this death before XD
I did do the Act 2, death caused by Gale exploding the netherese orb though. I was surprised it was possible for Gale to kill everyone so early in the game. xD

LOL. Downed 75% of your team in one go xD I haven't tried Honor Mode yet. I'm glad temporary death doesn't count towards perma-death. I was expecting any type of death = GAME OVER. At least if you have one character left, you have the option to FLEE, resurrect and come back. The first playthrough I tried the catwalks, and took fall damage and got thrown into the lava. I now stay on the ground and use sleet storm to make the Duegar slip, fall and waste their actions standing back up. :p

I didn't die, but I'VE DONE THIS BEFORE! I had the everburn blade on Lae'Zel
And I took her into the battle with the drunk Kobolds at the Monastary. I forgot that they are LITERALLY FULL OF ALCOHOL. And the second I hit one, the ENTIRE ROOM caught on fire.

Aww, so cute. Like this:
I'm amused so many of you guys died to Vlakith. I have Lae'Zel in my party when I go to the creche and she's always like "DON'T DO IT. DON'T DO IT. I KNOW YOU WANT TO DO IT, BUT DON'T :| :| :|"
I think my list will be growing with the new Honour Mode. I thought I'd give it a try last night. I wasn't too far in, I was at the ancient ruins. I had just talked the group of looters into leaving. Next thing I know, they fall through the cracked floor and get cornered by the looters inside. I was only level 2, I didn't stand a chance because the only way out of that room you fall into is through the enemies. I hadn't shot down the cinder block or anything. The group outside had left. I think my party just stepped on it.
So I started a new save as a deep gnome DUrge paladin. I was doing ok at first. I had heard the owlbear was "tough" so I avoided that until level 4 and went back for it, thinking that was a safe level. Next thing I know, "SURPRISE!" and the mama bear summoned her mate. I had just about managed to flee with Gale when the second owlbear crush leaped him.
I'm now on my third Honour Mode attempt. I'll report back once I've died very stupidly because I know I will.
Another Pretty Funny.. That was the First Time i tried make a Solo Run.. Went evrything Nice.. was Blazing actually but then.. i get to underdark And before this run always went using the Zentharin.. So this time i use the Secret Door in Goblins Camp (i Let Pristess Try to kill me.) Get phalar becouse i was a Palock then i went down the tunnel to go to Mushroon Camp.. The Bullet Jump out of the Hole am trow me out.. huahauhauha i Just Watch my char flying away.. i never had met hin there using this Route.. xD (i Was like Destroying the Game to Die like these.. Jesus.haha)
This was not in Honnor but i was Playing in the hardest that had back then. no joke i was like the Doomslayer in this Run.. Rip & Tear!
Keep in mind that I play with an AI mod, so this happened without any input from me, which is what makes it my funniest kill.
Astarion had a Thunder Wave scroll on him, and he managed to get right up next to the Spider Queen and use it to push her into the abyss very early in the battle.
I’ll stick with the highlight from my current Honour mode run. The second one because the first run ended abruptly at around char level 3, but nothing particularly noticeable about it.
This was yesterday.
Scene: clearing Githyanki after defeating the bosses (beware the captain! Harder than the inquisitor if you are not careful!).
Fight: easy one, the youths in training room.
Smart play: I’m out of all resources but let’s rest later and place a few barrels in the doorway, all the melee will come!
Then I trigger the encounter while placing barrels, githyanki instructor shoots something at them and bam! two characters down and others badly wounded.
Turned out to be almost a wipe, lot of scrolls and potions gone in this one. *sad face*
The kill that pleased me most was during the big endgame fight in the burning city against the mindflayers, absolutes and goblins. (So we're all lvl 12 at this point)
Note, I prefer the RP and am not a specialist in fighting, so every big or boss fight on balanced mode is a big challenge for my party to survive. So it may not be a big deal for the experienced honour mode fighters.
Gale had cast a cloudkill on a region containing a few enemies who died in the next two turns, but there was still a sneaky way to get around it apparently and an inquisitor of the absolute (95 hp) managed to get up the rampart and arrived in front of the cloud.
My lvl 10 bard/lvl2 warlock threw eldritch blast at her. That flung her into the cloudkill and killed her completely. I don't think any of my PC ever did so much damage to an opponent in one action. It felt so good. (I love that class combination by the way.)
The stupidest kill was on my sweetheart shadowheart. I thought I was targetting the enemy next to her, but then it turned out I blasted shadow. Yea, when the fighting is intense I get stressed sometimes and do surprisingly stupid things.
Dumbest death: seeing a bunch of explosives thrown on the ground and thinking I could explode just one of them. Wiped all the enemy with half my party, at least.
Funniest kill: broke so-and-so's "unshakeable will" with Vicious Mockery. just... imagine surviving 9x greatsword attacks from a githyanki. a sneak attack coming out of nowhere. Then some guy with a flute calls you a twerp and that's it, you're f'ing done.

I don't need to imagine, I'm grinning because there was a DnD skit that did exactly what you just described:
Blood tears and all 8'D "You just insulted a grown man to death."
