Hi, I'm Severijn and I'm quite new to this forums.

I played the demo of this game recently and read a review about it in PCgameplay and I'm left behind with mixed ideas. I'm not certain if I'm going to buy this game or not.

My first idea about the demo was that some of the voices in it weren't that good, but I read that this was getting fixed a long time ago. How are they now?

About the graphics, well, they aren't state-of-the-art, but who cares? I still prefer playing another hour of Baldurs gate 2 or diablo 2 above Farcry. I know it's the gameplay what's all imortant.

The music was brilliant. Will the game continue like this or is this the best of it?

How about it's hours of gaming? How long would an average player play this game untill he sees the credits pass by?

And now the major question, why would I want to buy this game? What makes it better then the rest?.

Thanks in Advance, Severijn.

40-60 hours without BF's I guess, 100 if you do them? But then the game keeps going afterwards!

WElcome!

The music is as great! the voices are OK, you get used to them. Its fun! Its original, it has got a good story. It is not all about making alot of money and having every single person buy it. It is about the fans likeing their game!

Or at least that was my impresion. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />

the voice acting is crap. i never played the demo, but it couldn't have been *that* much worse. on the other hand, the music is great. i thought the first game had probably the best music of any game i ever played, and this one is almost as good. so far i've only just finished the first act (of 5 i think) and the first act was a bit long and hack-n-slashy, but i hear it gets better. it's a fun game and, quite frankly, there aren't any other decent rpgs out there right now that i know of. i think it's better than a timekiller, don't get me wrong. i'm having fun with it.

seeing that you didn't indicate whether you played divine divinity (dd)or not, i suggest you buy it because it includes the original dd. dd is simply one of the best rpg's i've ever played, and it has the best soundtrack i have ever heard in an rpg.

if you haven't, i recommend you play dd first so that you'll appreciate where bd takes off.

btw, i played diablo ii myself, and dd was the game that took me out of my d2 addiction. i mean, you can only do so many meph runs, baal runs, countess runs, or bloody foothills runs. i looked for a new adventure and found it in dd.

p.s. i don't have a lot of post count. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" /> Hi and welcome to the forum.

You'll find a great group of people here, just a little <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />. Everyone has been extremely nice and helpful with whatever problems I have had. They're very knowledgeable and more than willing to help.
I have been playing rpg's and other games for a loooong time. Crusader is right, if you haven't played DD yet you should play it first. It will give the background you need for BD.
Both games are the best rpg's on the market in my opinion. Voices are not an integral part of the game. They certainly could be better but the game isn't built around the voices.
This is not a game you can run through. You do have to think about what you are doing and where you are going. There are so many ways to develope your character that you really have to chose which way you want to play her/him. You also have many paths that your character can go. All this effects the game to some degree.
What I love about BD are the battlefields. They are very different from other games. OK, so I'm a hack/slasher Warrior, I love to fight. The quests are very good and take time and thought.
I have been playing for many hours and have actually lost track of how long.
I hope my thoughts on the games will help you with your decision. If you like rpg's then these are the games for you.

Enjoy,

Shelli

First of all: Thanks for the many replies!
Second: As I read it here, you guys say it is a bit hack&slash(like diablo 2) and requires thought(like BG2).
And since everything has been confirmed by people with less posts, I see it's 9:34. *runs to the shop*

Thanks guys!

The reason to buy the game - after the fact that it's great - is that you can come to this forum time and again and have a laff with the members. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Has to be one of the best communities on the web! Heck even if you don't buy the game....what am I saying!!

Buy it... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" />
