I'm trying to save the prisoners in Act 2. Honour mode, can't reload for another approach.


Instead of giving Wulbren his hammer, I decided to murder the Warden instead, and open the doors first. Gnomes and Tiefs run outside to the docks, more combat ensues - no problem.

The prisoners continue forth, leap over the edge but..



Theyré all standing there in the exact same spot, and cannot be further interacted with. The journal stays on 'help them fight their way out' and the map marker is where they are... but that's it.

Same happens to me (on any mode or difficulty) if I give Wulbren the hammer, but kill the guards first, or kill them before Wulbren reaches the tieflings. The gnomes will just stand there and I have to break the wall myself to make everyone move. I think they get confused when out of combat.

Ah, that I have never encountered. They always flee properly when I do the underground route.

Have you tried personally breaking the chains on the boat? Might make them move onto the escape dialogue.

I had This Bug several Times..
The only way i find out to avoid is this..
Kill evrybody, Talk to Thieflings (if alive), talk wulbren (evrybody already dead.), Get the Hammer give it to Hin tell hin to go.
Wait in front of his Cell, let he do his Thing.
Then go inside, Only open cell 2 his cell btw.
wait for then to broke evrything, walls, chains..
then go talk to Then..
If they Get stuck for any reason.. Go there behind sneaking if yu can with someone and Broke evrything before free then.
(was the Only way i find out to avoid guards and free then easy without Running into any other bug..)

When yu do it the Normal way its a Hell of a Fight and in harder dificults can be anoying.. will not lie.

(when i Free Minthi i actually do a similar aproach too. its less anoying.)

BTW i did not Try yet Honnor Becouse of what yu comment..
This game Several Times i Had to load a Older Save to Be able to keep playing becouse i run into some Gameblocker bug or anything like that..
So i would advice to Make a Custom Super Hard Mode and Dont bother with Single Save yeat until this game is Proper Running at least 89% perfect.
(like Turn off evrything and Make super Hard im doing that btw. just dont bother with single Save.)

I had to break the tieflings wall myself, and I also broke the chains on the boat.

I've always done it that way instead of giving Wulbren his hammer. First time it's how I thought you should do it, but since he's so ungrateful I now just don't want to give it to him. I usually kill the guards outside first, but they've always gone to the Inn for me after running to the docks outside.

I usually enter Moonrise through the dock door which leads directly into the prison anyway don't go anywhere near the main entrance at this point, you can get to the dock door through the toll building and down some stairs (or cross over where you find Rolan later) and I haven't been to Last Light at all. Killing the guards outside on the docks works the same as killing the prison guards (i.e. no one notices).
kill the guards and the warden, toss Wulbren his hammer and then jump up onto the ledge (at the far end where all the barrels are) and go round the back - no need to open any doors.
Once round the back they are all standing there, so I flatten the wall myself with Thunderwave as noise doesn't matter given the guards are dead, then they all seem to come to life and run for the boat which is at the inside dock so no one to fight anyway. I travel with them on the boat. Seems to work out quite well. Only caveat is you have to get past the Last Light Jaheira interaction and then immediately run/fast travel to where Rolan is as otherwise the silly twit gets killed very quickly.

No, no - I didn't break through the wall. I used the lever in the Warden's office before giving them their hammer. If you do that, they jsut run out towards the docks. Once outside, you have to protect them, which is very easy.

After that, they just stand in one spot, not interactable and if you leave the area, they die.

That was the solution. Failed quest frown
