Greetings Faerun,

I always wondered why my compagnions staying in the camp and enjoying some bbq with wine or beer at the same time I try to save the world (or doom it). I also remember Dragon Age Origins or Mass Effect, where you have everybody at your camp fighting in the endgame, starting with your party, then switches to the folks left in the camp to fight their way.
After all these hours of playing you get a great and deep relationship with everyone and it would be a pity to let them go, just to have some conversations after. I always equip everybody in my camp with the best gear, just to be ready for the fight against that what we have sworn to fight.
Please let us play our heroes and not let them stay idle. Maybe they have to hold the door or some other side stuff happening in the city.
I am sure this would put the immersion a little step higher and not be left untold.

Hope some of you folks think the same, please comment.

May the gods protect you!

Yeah, it mkakes no sense. Owlbear Cub makes the effort to show up, but Wyll's sipping wine with Mizora in camp since before the Blightet Village.

Fear my wrath, for it is great indeed.

My head cannon is they are fighting elsewhere in the city, or holding off the enemy hordes.

Once they swim up to the docks they certainly all act like they were there.

Having all the companions involved DAO style was something I was expecting when I entered the High Hall and I was scratching my head when I noticed they weren't there. I wanted to hear their thoughts on what was going on, get last minute advice, etc. It would have been cool if everyone had something to say when you give the speech. I doubt they have more important things to do at camp when the city is burning, and I don't want to have to headcanon what is going on with them - I want to see it and have a big epic battle with them fighting alongside me.

I enjoyed having the B team fighting elsewhere in the latest Pathfinder game. And I was really hoping for something like that to happen in BG3. I kept the camp boys equipped and leveled up for that reason.

Of course they can not join the main party, because having more than four people in any adventuring party would violate a fundamental law of nature that is so deep and fundamental that it does not need explaning at all.
