Since i had problems with my saved games when Patch 5 came out, i started a new game. But when i arrived at waukeen's rest yesterday, it was already totally burned down, with no quests available? When i try to speak to the npc who's searching for tracks, she rambles something about drows, but i have no luck in starting some kind of questline?

Any help is appreciated

Just curiosity on my part, but
1. How often have you long rested?
2. Have you gotten close to the location before?

One of my games is buggy as all hell, but that location wasn't burned down on day 2

Long rested? Not sure, i guess around 5 times? Don't have that much time to play.

Yes, i have gotten close to the location before, at that time the gates were closed; but panning out the POV made clear that the place also was burned down.

I am not sure if this applies but I was under the impression that you reach the "burned down" state when you travel to Act 2, isn't it that way? You usually get a warning about leaving the chapter but there is a very convenient path into Act 2 from the Goblin Camp.

Hmm, Maybe that's the reason? I've unwillingly gone to act 2. After returning to the forest and the grove, normally when you jump the broken bridge, there should be a cut-scene with Voss and Laezel, but now nothing happens.

Waukeen's rest is supposed to be on fire when you get there. Not completely burned down but on fire. You are meant to help rescue a couple of people. One being a dark skinned high elf and another being some human male.

I'm not sure if you got there too late and everyone is dead or if you just didn't pay attention to what was going on when you got there.

I read some time ago that If you go there and leave again, long rest, and return -- the people will have burned to death. That's a way to miss out on some quests. So, I made sure to avoid it. I haven't read anything about too many long rests endangering them if the area remains unloaded, though. I don't know how close you have to get, so I just do it early. Free exp and no enemies, perfect for level 3.

The Zhentarim trader also has some really good items. If you steal the iron flask, then torture the guy to get back into their good graces, they trust you enough for access lol. I picked up some glove that gives advantage on all sleight of hand checks. Insane. I usually murderhobo them, but it's worth waiting out multiple shops resets before that. Who knows what else they have.

Those gloves are pretty good, but soon after you can find robes that add +2 Dex and persistent Cat's Grace. So Advantage on *all* Dexterity checks. And, since my Rogues are always snipers and/or Monk combos, robes are just fine.

Fear my wrath, for it is great indeed.
