I've installed Divine Divinity and the 1.34 patch but after a while Divine Divinity crashes back to Windows with a slash1.dll error. My system is a 1gig Athlon, Windows XP Pro, GeForce2 MX400, Sound Blaster Live, and 256 mb SDRam, I know that this just meets the min requirements but can some-one tell me what the slash1.dll error means, and if it's fixable.

Are the crashes random, after a certain period of time, or associated with particular events in the game?
Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game?
Have you checked for updated video drivers, and installed the latest critical updates for Windows?

I played the game fine with a Windows 98SE, Duron 900 (later 1300), GeForce 2MX, 512MB system. The only obvious potential problem as far as system requirements is your RAM; Windows XP take a good chunk of that for itself.

It only happens after a period of time, but you could very well be right that it's due to a lack of memory, but here in Australia SDRam at the moment is a little expensive to be adding more at the moment.

I mostly mentioned the RAM to emphasize that all non-essential programs should be shut down.
With Beyond Divinity a few people fixed crashes involving slash1.dll by updating to the latest video card drivers, but I don't think Divine Divinity had the same problem.
The topic Awful Slowdown for BD contains some information on RAM programs and settings. A web search should also come up with a guide for tweaking memory settings in Windows XP.
