As title goes: it's not clear to me why Larian decided to drop the old system with separate profiles.

I like that save games are now sorted directly in "subfolders" separated for each character, that's a nice improvement (if one that took far too long to be implemented during EA)...
But separate user profiles allowed a flexibility that is missing now, like giving you the chance to have a profile where you were using mods and another one where you played just the vanilla version of the game.
Or two profiles with two different configurations of mods.

Honestly I would love to see a system that uses both: separate user profiles AND separa subfolders for different characters.

I can't even tell if no one cares about the option or if no one understand what I'm even talking about (which is a possibility, since not everyone was here in EA and maybe I explained myself poorly).

Bump because I don't give a damn if the talking point is impopular.

I still want the option to be able to carry on CONCURRENTLY a playthrough using mods and another one without it, which makes a profile system a necessity, which means I hope someone at Larian sees this thread and realizes the issue exist.

Sincerely, I don't care.

Thanks for sharing but you are outside of the useful time limit for this statement.

The bump happened anyway because incidentally I DO.

If I remember correctly, the removal of profiles just made it annoying to make multiple pc characters on one play. I doubt they'll bring it back but I'd vote for it.

I would like to have a profile system in place. I can somewhat work around it by using vortex and profile system they have. However I also use my steam deck to play BG3 and it doesnt play well with Vortex or BG3 MM. If we only had a profile system that would allow us to have different sets of mods life would be so much better.
