I saw somewhere that you could increase the number of autosaves so that if one went bad everything was not lost
any ideas?

I didn't know there is an autosave. Should really start reading the manual. Anyway I wouldn't like autosaves too much, since it takes a lot of time to save. I usually save after a heavy fight or after about 15 minor fights

Do you mean quick saves? If so...

Taken from http://www.larian.com/Site/english/divinity/english.html

Download the patch, then increase the number of quicksave slots like this:

Quicksaves now alternate between 1 and the MaxQuickSaveAmount setting in config.lcl which by default is at 2 but which can be increased to any number if you want a number of sequential quicksaves. To increase the setting – open the file config.lcl in the folder where you installed Divine Divinity, and add the line MaxQuickSaveAmount # with # being the maximum amount of quicksaves you want.

Don't forget to press return after typing the new line, or it won't work

If you really mean autosaves, sorry - no idea laugh

You can open them in Notepad, or any other text editor. Even if you are just making simple changes, it is good practice to make a copy of the file first.
