Following on the trail of the Dwarf in Red/Dolor and get to and arrive at Figaro Pennygood's shop where FIgaro & Gauntlet Devella. Place Sanctuary upon both victims and mop up the Doppelgangers/Dolor. After fight the framerate stutters, then a partial cutscene where the party first meets Gauntlet Devella plays, then immediate CTD.

I have lowered the resolution, verified/repaired the install, and the issue still happens, making the side quest impossible to complete. 8 crashes so far over the course of 3 days. I am able to complete multiple other side quests no issue (Lorroakan & Dame Aylin, Ambush in the Park, etc.) but every time returning to the serial killer crashed to desktop.

Any way to fix or is it a bugged quest?

Side Note: Every reload after CTD and the game thinks this is the first time I've played and will not stop showing Agree to EULA, agree to nudity, darkness settings, & tutorials I can't turn off even with the check box set to 'don't show tutorials'

Are you on PC? I just played through this a couple of weeks ago on PC (like this exact scenario) and it worked fine. I wonder if one of the more recent hotfixes has bugged it.

If you want to try a different strategy for completing the quest, there are a variety of other victims who Dolor targets. You could try going to one of them first, and maybe you can kill Dolor before he ever gets to Figaro. You could also try talking to Devella before you go to the next victim, because maybe it’s trying to talk to her that’s crashing the game.

I think that Devella may initially be in the Elfsong tavern? But don’t quote me on that.

Yes, on PC and I suspect it is a bug; Here's the sequence of events:

Meet Devella in Elfsong Tavern & update quest/show her the murder ledger. She says she's headed to protect the patriars on the list. (Save) Ok, on me to save the others...

Arrived @ the "Wine Tasting" and used successful Medicine check to detect the poison, asked Dolor to drink first. Doppelgangers attack, Dolor gets away, save Corin.

The Quest markers update and there's Figaro and "Investigate the Murders" waypoint on top of each other. Went directly to the scene and stopped the murders. Partial "First Meeting" of Devella cut scene with immediate CTD

Stop the Wine Tasting murder (don't detect the poison this time) but save Corin. Quest updates same as above, head there and CTD after winning.

Stop the Wine Tasting Murders (save), then press on to other murder victims; too late for the smuggler, the park manager, the 'appointment only' guy, but warn the woman drinking at the bar. Move on to Figaro. CTD.

I think the patch might have bugged the quest b/c every time it CTDs, it tries to play the initial Devella meeting cut scene. I saw someone on Reddit posted this happening like 10 days ago, but got no replies, so maybe patch bugged it?

I'm *more* interested in finishing the quest in order to get Lae'zel back from Orin the Red and I think this is the path to getting there.
