In my new playthrough, I'm currently at the party in the camp with the Tieflings. Arabella has died at the hands of Kagha. Now I have the event in the camp that Komira has a problem with Kagha, who is also present.
Luckily I have a savegame here, because I don't understand the paladin's situation with the Oath of Vengeance. I thought the Oath of Vengeance was for vengeance to happen through him, not for him to watch others do it. Who seem to commit this act purely out of overflowing emotions. Those, like Komira, who are not entirely in control of their senses.
Why does it lead to an oath break if the paladin does something other than just watch?
Note: I playing a Human DarkUrge Paladin Oath of Vengeance
In Pillars of Eternity, for example, it seems to make a difference to a Bleak Walkers if his client doesn't have all his senses together. So he can stop a paladin comrade from slaughtering poor craftsmen and farmers because his contract comes from someone who hired the other paladin while drunk.
They may be different concepts of paladins, but so far I haven't made a distinction at this point. Didn't with my first oath of Vengeance-character either.
(only Arabella didn't die there)
