I don't understand whats causing these CTDs, they happen once at some big scene (not always the same one) then no matter what I do, no matter how many saves I go back the game keeps CDT at the same spot. I use no mods and never did so it's not a mod issue. I can play the whole First Act and a good chunk of the Second Act but then the crashing begins.
First it happened when I was about to start a battle in the Gauntlet of Shar against that demon (no spoilers). I'd reach a point just before the battle would begin and it would CTD, I'd reload then it would CTD again, then I verify files etc. and still no joy. I reinstalled the game still no joy. After trying a dozen saves I just gave up and started a new playthrough.
Now I've made it all the way to the final battle with Kethric and the bone god thing (Act 2). I finished it and as I was leaving through the portal... boom CTD. Now I can't even open the door to the room to fight the battle again without the game crashing. Verify files, reinstall, again no joy it just keeps CTD every time I try and open the door to battle no matter how far back the save is.
What can I do?
