Issue started after patching on Friday.

Issue:
When using Keyboard/Mouse on ANY GUI I am unable to click a button. The game "sees" the mouse and shows a hover effect, but I'm unable to click anything. I spent ~10 hours on this issue trying to get into a game. The only way to exit is to stop in steam or the task manager.

A friend suggested maybe it's a controller issue, toggling those off nothing fixed, but I got the idea to try USING the controller. What we discovered is by plugging in a PS4 controller I can at least get past the main screen... only to discover once I remove the PS4 controller I can click and move my characters around, but I cannot interact with the portraits/buttons/inventory/etc. All I can do is use keybinds and click in the world. IE, none of the "GUI" is working.

Things that failed to work:
- reinstalled (twice)
- rolled back drivers
- changed full screen/windowed
- swapped peripherals
- unplugged everything except mouse/keyboard
- moved them to diff usb spots, including trying a new hub
- tried a different brand of mouse
- updated directx
- tried vulkan
- deleted all my saves
- tried like 20 other fixes by googling various terms

Hi, me and my friends are having the exact same problem, and I'm surprised this is the only post I've seen so far about it.

hey, let me ask you something.
Did you have your mouse buttons changed? like for example, I had my move button on the right clic instead of the left. My friends that are having the same problem use the same config of buttons (right clic to move, left clic to move camera, middle clic to menu).

Guys I found a way solve this problem.

You need uninstall the game and then go to your C:/ folder and search for larian.

The folder that appears it needs to be erased.

Then reinstall the game again and you can play.

BUT careful with the settings!!! Do not change the interact button option to right click. There is the problem.

I had this exact "issue" after I tried to see what a setting in the game's main menu would do. I clicked on the setting - well, then, the game ceased to respond to my mouse clicks from then on. That was the reason why I joined this official forum: because I couldn't reset that setting - because the reset would require a simple mouse click that had simply become impossible to do!

I hate a design like this. And I'm a software engineer.

Hello! The team is aware of this issue and they are looking into it. In the meantime, resetting the keybinds in the launcher should work as a temporary workaround:

In the launcher, click the settings button in the bottom left, scroll down and click the 'Reset Keybindings' button.

Larian sent me a message saying to reset keybinds in the launcher (which I didn't even know was a thing) and it fixed.
