Hello everyone. I'm the one, who plays Baldur's Gate 3 with mods. With just a few of them to change some things, that I don't like personally.
I had to roll back using sophisticated guides multiple times for the last 6 months, because I don't want to abandon my current playthrough and I also don't have enough time to finish it before the next patch goes live. The game is huge and I love it.
Yet it happened again - #18 Hotfix broke Script Extender and 1/3 of all nexusmods library with it. And I accidentally pressed "update" in the steam menu trying to launch the game, instead of using exe. It's became a habit already. Now I have to redownload the whole game through the steam console to roll back safely.
I wrote the introduction for this post, because I want to share the amount of problems the part of your community faces with every patch. All of them are avoidable with enabling steam beta functionality, that will allow players like me to roll back their game through steam. One this feature would help a big part of this community to keep playing instead of putting hours on debugging, like I did today.
I don't know how hard it is to implement such a feature. Maybe it is required a lot of effort and this is a reason why we don't have it yet. But I know, that thousand of players will appreciate this feature and I hope devs will implement this one day.
Thank you
