The Gondians have an entry for the "Gather Your Allies" quest, but for some reason this doesn't do anything. I have checked and it does absolutely nothing.

This should be fixed. Either the Gondians should show up at the final battle or their entry in the quest log should be removed, ideally the former.

I think you may be right. I remember getting Ironhand gnomes as allies, but not the Gondians. And I saved all of their people and everything. Quite weird, now that you mention it.
