Something that bugged me was that the faces for elves/humans/etc were entirely different despite the only real difference being the pointy ears (yes there's in-universe stuff but this is an RPG I think we can relax the rules a bit), and I'd love to see them shared across any race where they'd be able to work. Plus maybe some more face options in general? I noticed that, for male/male-presenting faces at least, most of them were on the chiseled, ultra-handsome end of the spectrum. I'd love to see some more just plain faces.

In other words, I noticed that a lot of the female/female-presenting faces could fall under the "cute" or "plain" categories whereas most of the male faces were either ultra-handsome or kinda ugly.

Some more body types would also be nice. I realize that huge bodies might be hard to impliment (animation issues, etc), but something a bit less chiseled would be nice.

One quick thing before I end the post - if this was already added to the game since the last time I played in early December 2023 then I appologize for suggesting something that's already a thing. I posted about this (and WASD movement) on the BG3 subreddit and got harrassed over it leading to me having my urge to play BG3 basically killed. That's also why this is probably a bit rambly - I'm still kinda anxious from when I posted on reddit and very much hoping I don't get treated similarly here lol

TLDR - more face options and bodies options would be greatly appreciated, as well as built-in WASD support (even though I didn't say much about that one lol)

I'm so sorry you were harrassed. You don't have to worry about that here because the mods are pretty awesome.

If you can use mods, there are plenty of nice face models out there now, and they won't break your game.

And I definitely would rather use what came with the game, but I find that none of the female ones are to my likeing. I think one half-elf male head is very cute, but I don't play male characters.

I'm tempted to use mods but also a bit weary since I've heard about them breaking when the game updates. Only other games I use heavy mods on are the Fallout games (specifically 3, NV, and 4), and Skyrim, none of which have had updates in forever (though 4 is supposed to get one soon), and The Sims 4 which does get regular updates but it doesn't brick the mods I use fortunately (closest it ever got was one specific mod getting some bits looking glitchy when a big skin color update rolled out).

That being said, I saw someone here mention that their WASD mod (I think it was that one) didn't get bricked with the recent update so I'm certainly open to using them again.

Edit: the other thing I have against mods (at the moment) is that it usually takes a couple years for the really good mods to start coming out, at least in my experience.

What's nice about mod support is there's A LOT of hair and heads (faces) you can get from mods. Same with gear. Transmog is alive and well with mods. This allows the community to be creative and contribute while Larian works on harder stuff that only they can work on.

I mean male Elves are supposed to be Super Handsome it's what's sets them apart from Ugly Humans and Filthy Dwarves, they're also supposed to be Skinny and Androgynous like Link from Zelda, Halsin is the only Elven anomaly, since Canonically in D&D aka the same universe as BG3, Elves aren't supposed to be jacked Like Halsin, However Halsin might secretly just be a Bear that uses wild shape to pose as an elf.

Full agreement on the Elven male mugs. King Kong would be proud of Little Brother making it big in Faerun!
The Halfelf male heads are more elfy than those of fullblood Elves!
The big body type for elves is a mistake too - DnD Elves are petite.
Halsin should be a Half Elf, he so non elfy ...

I would really like to have leaner elves in the game. The default "normal" body is one of dedicated muscle guys, compared to our world. Hardly fitting for elves or people of the mind. Halsin just made a mistake one time, instead of the intended potion against baldness he slurped a Potion of Supreme Anacolic.

I too wish there was a couple more face and body options, outside of using mods, just to have a more normal body. The masc body is very muscular and it would be nice to have a soft belly, or even have a slightly thicker body overall. It doesn't make sense with all characters being always buff, my TAV would defintly not have a six pack realistically, just like Gale wouldn't either since he's a wizard. Having a couple of soft masc faces would be good too. I realise since mods exist they probably don't care about such things, I know some people have wanted more non-binary options too, but even if they just gave us 1 extra body type, a non buff one, then I would be happier lol.

Thicker bodies wouldn't work for Elves or Tieflings, since there's never been an obese Elf or Tiefling, Githyanki wouldn't also have thicker bodies either.

I don't mean obese or overweight, just a more stocky or soft body type, just slight variations in the current body type (like no abs), but within the race's norms of course, as I agree Elves and Githyanki would have the thinner body types.

Yeah maybe, I don't know tbh, but something a little rounder/softer, as I think it would be a nice option to have.

I agree with your whole post but I would especially like to see more choice in the masc faces. The large square jaw looks wrong on an elf to my mind. I would love to have the option of a softer face.

That's what I meant, soft faces for Masc (I forgot to reiterate that sorry), so I completely agree! I would love a rounder/softer face for my tav, plus a softer body too.
