This is my third playthrough since release, and I still have to use a save game editor to not be dumped by Karlach in act III (yes i have had to do it the other two times too). The reason? The act II romance scene never triggers despite having fixed her, kissed herm talked to Dammon... and had long rests. My guess is that Mizora's little idiot plot about being rescued overwrites Karlach's romance. I have longrested 18 times so far in Act II, it just won't trigger.

It seems to me that having Wyll in your party, period is not compatible with having Karlach in my party. I guess one solution is to start over again, and never recruit Wyll if I want to have any kind of relationship with Karlach.

Edit: I opted to replay the entire Act II, luckily I had a save in Grymforge standing in the elevator, everything in Act I ready.
It seems like the only way to ensure a Karlach romance thru Act II is to after having her heart insulated, kiss her, then immediately go to camp, and continue to talk to her at camp and sleep over and over until it triggers. In my case I had to push thru Mizora's request for aid, and then Scratch finding me something. The third time I did a long rest Karlach got the "!" and then after talking to her going to bed triggered the scene in Act II that is mandatory for the romance to continue into act III.

Googling it it seems this is indeed true; if you talk to any other character before going to camp (Like Jaheira, Mol, anyone) there is a very large chance the romance will never ever trigger.

Hm, that's interesting.
You think it might work the same way with the Act I romance trigger?
So maybe after first heart fix from Dammon (and her having high enough approval), immediately go to the camp and do a long rest?
Since I'm stuck with the problem, that the scene where she visits at night and tells me about stars and some riding lessions ( astarionhappy ) is jut not existent. In whole Act I, doesn't matter if pre-Goblinparty or post-Groblinparty.
Havn't played BG3 since, tbh. cryicon

While I never experienced this bug, her romance scene needs to be prioritized. I initiated her romance in act 1, have been in the dating phase, and the game prioritized every single available character camp scene over her act 2 romance scene. It's very easy to miss out on her romance even without any bugs.
