So Lae'zel and my Tav are an incredible power couple. As I am playing a cleric of Vlaakith, going fully pro-Vlaakith during Lae'zel's storyline also seemed a given.

Now, entering Baldur's Gate proper and going into our first long rest triggered a very sweet cutscene.
Watching a sunrise over the water, something something source of my bruises, etc.
Imagine my surprise when in that same cutscene she
BREAKS UP WITH ME, citing her duty to Vlaakith as more important than us.

Most importantly I need to know if this is intended and if it is irrevocable, and if not,
how I can salvage our relationship.
Willing and able to use mods and stuff to get something more out of this. Yes, out-of-game I am fully aware
what Vlaakith's m.o. is, and that it's likely not going to be a happy ending. I am roleplaying my Tav. Sue me. grin

But while I was thinking about this situation, the less it makes sense for Lae'zel to do this:
your duty to Vlaakith is more important than us? GIRL, I am her CLERIC, while you worship her as an after-thought. Us being together makes perfect sense and would not get in the way of our duty. In fact, knowing you and knowing me, should there ever come a day (there won't) where you'd have to choose between Vlaakith and me, I 100 percent expect you to choose Vlaakith and I want you to choose Vlaakith. However, this is not that day.

I've recently come across this scene while checking vids on YT. All comments said this happens when she stays loyal to Vlaakith.

If you want to get a happy ending with her, she has to be shown Vlaakith's mind during her visit in act 3 (after succeeding an arcana check), be persuaded to spurn her, or not be stopped if she decided to denounce her on her own after witnessing the events at the créche and allying with Voss.

I think the idea isn't that she has to choose between Vlaakith and Tav one day so much as it's she can't focus on her duty to Vlaakith while she feels a daily duty to Tav as well.

To me, Lae'zel's loyalty feels complete. There's no room for more than one. She's all in. It's what I find most intriguing and admirable about her.

Well. Oof. Not even room for a literal cleric of Vlaakith in her life. Even knowing what Vlaakith is and does from previous playthroughs I'm a little dissappointed it ends so abruptly.

That's... beautifully put. And I hate it. I understand it, but I hate it. xD

BRB, heading to Sharess' Caress to drown my sorrows...
...between the thighs of some drow twins now that Lae'zel can't object anymore.
