Hi All, I know that this was alluded to in another thread, about the useless junk lying around, etc. But it has a twist...

Anyway, I had gotten tired of walking through some small tunnels with garbage, rotten food, wood planks, etc, lighting up my cursor so that I couldn't walk anywhere without one of my guys trying to pick it up or open it. So I went on a spring cleaning mission with a vengence. I starting picking up all the trash and putting them into barrels, and then putting the barrels into other barrels or boxes that I'd encountered. After doing this for about a few hours...

Surprise!

A box that I had opened on a new level was filled with... You guessed it...

TRASH!!!

A steady stream of never before opened boxes or barrels were filled with all the junk that I had put into barrels from a few hours ago. I found barrels containing other barrels that contained trash. Well, I stopped cleaning from that point on.

Hmmm... Larian? Any ideas of what's going on?

Awesome! Cleaning up the trash. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

It works in BF's to. Some chests/barrels are all connected. It saves making the game another BG larger I think.

Very nice if you know where they are, makes it easy to store stuff, get it back later.

Can you perhaps mark it on the map in the game? Take a screenshot of the 2 areas and then post it? People say this, but I've never seen it, could be intresting!

Well Lews, I really wasn't trying to extrapolate locations of barrels etc, when I was doing it. Just got into the "fun" of clearing the mess in the halls and never really paid any attention to where I was at when I was doing it.

I wouldn't either, I'm just saying it suggests some intresting ideas. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Sounds actually sort of fun to me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" /> I think in my next game I will try it out! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

BTW, are you in Act 1?

Hi ralphrepo! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I like your story! How much did the final barrel weigh? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/delight.gif" alt="" />

I can only explain what heppened in technical terms. Every container in the game has a unique ID number. Items stored in the container are stored with this ID number. The battlefield containers must use random ID numbers without checking to see if they are used elsewhere in the story game. Containers with the same ID number have the same contents.

It's can be a useful teleportation trick if you can get enough with the same number, leave one next to your teleporter stone and others next to merchants.
