I'm not sure when this change happened, but I just talked to Gale during the celebration after saving the grove. He didn't say anything about showing me anything magical. In fact, all the romance leads with his dialogue were super obvious and there was an opportunity to talk to him as a friend!

I found this to be a great improvement. So much better.

He mentioned not having many friends at all, and we entered a friendship through dialogue. Nothing weird or sexual, just a polite friendly conversation.

I'm almost positive I went through another playthrough in patch six where the conversation didn't go this way. I'm not sure when the change happened or maybe something triggered the difference in my playthrough, but regardless, I'm really happy it played out this way.

Weird. I literally went through that a couple of days ago and got the magic invite…perhaps that was before latest hot fix but that doesn’t seem to have any story related changes. Could it be down to a slight difference in approval ratings?

If it's a specific trigger I wish I could point to it, but I'm just not sure. I've played thousands of hours, and this is the first time I've ever had this particular dialogue tree. Nothing at all about showing me something magical.

It was surprising enough that I made a post here. Hoping someone might know if this is new or if there's a set of triggers I'm not aware of?

Another dialogue tree I'd like to see changed is when Astarion talks about how he hasn't seen his face. I basically have the options to tell him to stop wasting my time or say he's not aging well or to stare deeply at him and "act as his mirror." Frankly, I don't want to act as a mirror to some dude and talk about his piercing eyes. Not sure what the writer was thinking there.

I'd rather have an option to just say, "That's tough, man. I'm sorry to hear that."
