I love the voices that are currently available in the game!

In fact, I think it's great that they're all in the same general register and not wildly different.

That said, I think the next step would be to introduce a very low pitched, slow voice and a quicker, high pitched voice.

For the male voice, it might be a gravelly dwarf-ogre voice and a trilling halfling-elf voice.
For the female voice, maybe a surly, sinister voice and a higher pitched , cheerful, light-hearted voice.

After that, maybe consider moving on to alternate accents and more defined character personalities. That's probably "next level" for BG4.

There is no Baldur's Gate4.

A better selection of Tav voices would be greatly welcome. All on offer are rather non-discript and samey. Voice selection in RPGs of the past has been much more varied and evocative (plus one could import his own SoundSets if he wished. Last BG playtrhough I did with a voice of Gareth from Thief series, and tis was awesome.

That's very interesting Wormerine. I'd probably need significant tech support for modding "soundsets."
Sounds great, if you know how to do it.

The way the wind is blowing, it sounds like Larian isn't taking BG3 on as a forever project, so I guess we won't see many more sets of voices.
It would have been cool though.

Hopefully Larian will take a note for future games or pass it on to whatever entity tackles BG4.

It was very simple in BG1&2, I have no idea if it is possible to do in BG3 (possibly not, as your protagonist voice include more than 10+ barks this time around).

Modding support is supposed to be on the way - not sure what it could include, but I see it for now as the most likely fix for your problem.

What I'd like to see more than extra voices is to have the player character fully voiced. I realise that this would add a lot of voice acting, especially with around 10 voices to choose from, but although it wasn't quite what I had in mind at the start of the game, the voice I picked ended up helping to define who my character was. Those occasional moments where you get a one-off voice line are great, although most of the barks get very repetitive very quickly ("better not be cursed!" "I wonder if the gods are watching me!"). Frankly it's crazy that it plays a bark by default on every click... I've warned my brother to turn it way down at the start of the game.

I wonder if now you could use AI to even have the characters say the player name out loud. I'd imagine having the actor say a placeholder name in the line, with the right intonation/emotion, and the computer could replace that with whatever name the player gave their character. As long as there's an option to turn it off and/or fix it if the computer can't work out your pronunciation, it would fix those awkward moments when NPCs try to address you without using your name - my favourite is when the Dream Visitor says something like "I'll only speak to the one who's in charge". And it would be essential to fully voice your player character given how often they give their name in dialogue. I'd hope that using it for that specific use-case would keep all the advantages of using good actors, though I can understand some might see it as a slippery slope: first it's for player names, then it's for responding to specific events in the moment, then it's used for talking about the overall player choices, then...
